Okay, we get a night off and then two game 7s, how great is that?! One Friday and one Saturday. Here’s hoping for two good, close games.

I’ve never understood the desire by some fans for an ‘original six’ series. None of these players were around when it was just a six team league, and neither were most fans. The only reason that the league would prefer that is that the tv markets are better for them with NY and Chicago, rather than Tampa and Anaheim. I could understand it maybe if it were the Habs and the Leafs in it, but the Rangers and Blackhawks were hardly powerhouses in the Cup finals prior to 1967.
Tampa Bay’s right winger, Nikita Kucherov, wasn’t he still in power way back there in the early 1960s back when he was a big-time left winger?
That kid is exciting to watch and what a great name. It makes me smile every time the play-by-play guy says it. 
I remember as a kid listening to the Hawks on radio. Pettit and Beaudro announcing. B. Hull, Makita, and lots more.

Great game last night. Tampa Bay’s young, fast players were seemingly too much for the Rangers, who had trouble putting the puck in the net at MSG.
Here’s hoping for another great game 7 tonight.

So glad to be done with Ryan Kesler and Corey Perry. So glad they’re not on our team. Refusing to talk with the media is pitiful. Props to Getzlaf. He had a terrible game as pointed out during the intermission by NBC, but he stood and talked with the media like a man post-game.
Oops…correction: I just read that Kesler came out late to talk with the media.

So perhaps I missed this discussion, but no one has said anything about Mayor Emanuel’s response to the Lightning continuing their policy of banning opposing team apparel at their arena for the playoffs?
Kornheiser mentioned TP’s jersey policy on PTI this afternoon and for once, I agreed with him. It’s ridiculous and so unsportsmanlike.
