The Cafe Watering Hole: PART DEUX

Snoop read the first four pages of my story, I’m trying to get into this fiction class.

I will read it if you like.

First four pages hmmm? I can read it.

PMed both yalls.

After writing that novella for my creative writing class, I gave up on writing fiction. My language is too snobby and my plots are too complicated to write anything worth reading.

Sorry I haven’t had the chance to read your story, I will later today or tomorrow.

This thread must survive.

This is really just sad. I need some outlet for my random musings, since I refuse to use Twitter. If I don’t have this thread, I’m probably just going to start muttering things aloud.

I got four vaccines tonight. FOUR.

I write just snobbily enough.

^That’s good. I really admire Edgar Allan Poe’s writing. It has snobby language AND plot. He wrote most of it with his pen in one hand and a bottle of booze in the other, but whatever.

My calendar tells me that today is a “Civic Holiday” in Canada. They must have holidays for no reason.

Of course. Because they don’t exist.

Oh, vague America.

We do have holidays for no reason. Family Day in 2006 was created because February didn’t have a holiday already.

I got the worst dorm assignment imaginable. I’m in the anti-social international student dorm. I just want to break things.

Lollapalooza. And haha. And I’m sorry.

“Mike in the antisocial dorm” is like an oxymoron. I’m really, really sorry. Have you tried contacting whoever is responsible for dorm assignments? Because I know a lot of colleges put students on waiting lists for other dorms if they really want to change where they’re staying.

I’ve called pretty much everyone possible, put myself on wait lists, collected phone numbers. Now it’s just time to wait, I suppose. The way Northwestern housing is distributed is so silly. Luckily I didn’t break anything last night, lol.

Haha, that sounds like the perfect dorm for me. I’d probably be one of the more social ones if it’s really that anti-social, but the international students thing is a huge plus. I’m glad it’s fairly easy to get housing at UChicago. Rents are probably cheaper in Hyde Park than they are in Evanston, so people don’t hesitate to move off campus when they can.

I do hope you get something better, though.

My head is filled with images of a needle going into my arm, and I didn’t even look when they did it.

In other news, Funny People was actually pretty good, if a bit long.

I want to see Funny People even if Judd Apatow can only write total sausage fests.

Charlyne Yi is an anomaly.

I’ve ingratiated myself to an important guy in housing. Things are looking uppish.

There’s a funny girl in Funny People. Besides, sausage fests=more ***** jokes=hilarious.

Edit: You can say vagina but not penis. Huh.

Yes, I’ve always wondered about that. Especially since that’s the word they used in my middle school biology book.
