The Cafe Watering Hole: PART DEUX

***, y’all?

Don’t act like you don’t know.

Girl, don’t start. I don’t appreciate your hostility. The same goes for Mike.

So you do know.

wat da fug shawdy.

oooh, I’m reel scurred Jolie, u so tuff. lolamirite?

Gross.

Dang television.

I’m reading Kurt Vonnegut’s musings disguised as a novel.

Toronto has no freight trains. Interesting.

I hardly watch TV anymore. I’m certainly not dragging one to college.

“Don’t be scurred” is one of my favorite things to say. LOL.

PS: Thanks for capitalizing my name. It demonstrates mad respect, yo.

You all talk hard, but I come from the streets, yo. For real.

THIS GIRL I KNOW GOT INTO BARNARD AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW.

whaat.

yeah, doesn’t that just suck? Like I got waitlisted at Washington University St. Louis but this apparently unqualified person got in because she had the money to do service in Guatemala. There could be a whole thread on the injustice of college admissions :frowning: except that would get really whiny real fast >.<

So I just get into my zen mode and think happy vengeful thoughts of ending up with a better job anyways :)

Yale and Princeton rejected, Columbia waitlist. Overall, better than I expected.

C’mon Stanford, come through for me! Otherwise, I’m 99% a Wildcat.

Rejected from Princeton. Lawlz. UChicago’s aid had better do itself a favor and come through for me.

Mike, I’m most disappointed that we won’t be econ buddies at Princeton.

And now for my piles of homework.

Stanford reject here, so we’ll be econ rivals, JB.

I’m not even going to visit Rice, Northwestern here I come!

It must be nice to be decided.

I only want to apply to 7 places and I was thinking of replacing Northwestern with Vandy just because they give a frickload of merit aid, but NEVER MIND THAT. Since me and mikey are going to up to hijinks in Evanston.

An overwhelming feeling of relief that I can’t even begin to describe.

Just apply to eight, trust me, come April you’ll want as many options as possible. If I had to redo the whole thing, I would have cut Cal and UCLA, not applied to the engineering schools of Duke and Columbia, and I would have added Georgetown. So I guess I would have cut one school, but still, cast your net far and wide, you never know what’s going to happen, where you’ll get in, what schools you’re going to change your mind about, etc. And that’s the life lesson of the day.

Well damn, the post order issue is back. And the time stamps are way screwed up.

Haha. But remember, I’m still not sure about financial aid. I hesitate to say I’m going to UChicago, because I don’t know that for sure yet. I might end up at Ohio Wesleyan. Who knows. If I go there, I won’t have the torture of picking a dorm because I’ll just pick the honors dorm, so I can be in the elitist clique.

nobody will post for exactly 42 minutes

I only applied to six, and my list was bottom-heavy for a CCer. UChicago and Princeton were my only reaches. Kenyon and Case were the matches, and OWU and OSU were safeties. I wish I could have applied to more reaches, but my parents are antagonistic toward the whole thing, even still. There aren’t very many reach schools within four hours of my town. UChicago and Northwestern may very well be the only ones. Notre Dame would be a match, but it’s not the right type for me.

I overheard my dad today telling someone that he hates to send me to a technical school, but it might have to happen because of the money. I didn’t tell him this, but that’s not happening. I have yet to tell my parents how much money I got from Kenyon.
