Sometimes I put my homework stack on top of my laptop. The only trouble is when I have homework where I need to use the computer.

I have five more pages of my novel to write today. I did two already. I stopped caring how good it is. I just want it to be finished.

Acabo de mirar un video en BBC Mundo, y ahora estoy pensando solamente en espa

I’m knocking out a banging paper on censorship.

It’s probably terrible.

I just stumbled across a very, very long page listing all of the reasons The Handmaid’s Tale should be banned. I’ve only ever read controversial books in English class.

Two pages of suck. I have written two double-spaced pages of suck and now I have to make a presentation.

I’m trying to find books that have been challenged that people in my class have at least heard of besides Harry Potter.

To Kill a Mockingbird? They have to have heard of that. It criticizes the very foundation of their Southern beliefs.

I wrote a six-page paper on censorship in schools last year.

That was a big issue when my class read Huck Finn last year. Nobody here really objects to it, because the white people are the good people. But the teacher made it obvious that the book was often banned. We even had a trial to see if Mark Twain is racist. It was incredibly pointless.

Would you care to read it, oh northerner of mistaken mindset?

We read To Kill a Mockingbird in English last year.

To Kill a Mockingbird remains one of the best books I’ve ever read.

Actually, most of the best books I’ve read have been the controversial ones. Of Mice and Men and Brave New World fit this bill.

I don’t have a favourite book.

I’ve decided that Margaret Atwood’s style slightly sucks.

I’m taking the SAT Chemistry exam in 6 days and I’m not worried at all.

That’s because your chemistry class teaches about more than just polyatomic ions and chemical reactions.

I’m taking the SAT US history exam in 6 days and I’m not worried at all.

Bleck. I have less of my novel done than I thought I had.

I have so much to write this month. Between my novel, my graduation speech, and a screenplay, I’ll be lucky if I have time to sleep.

A screenplay? Watchu talkin bout, Willis?

See what I did there? Clever.

That’s the new name of the Sears Tower. Lame.

For creative writing, we were assigned groups, and we’re supposed to take one person’s novel and turn it into a screenplay.

Red rum.

I just got spooked, like, bad. I need a distraction.

Almost every minute of today, I was dealing with someone’s stupidity and inefficiency. It was great. After all the frustration subsided, now it’s just sort of funny.

I re-realized today how badly I need to go to college far away.

So now it’s Northwestern instead of Vandy again?

Still Vandy. I…don’t know.

So for National Merit, I think I’ll be putting down Scripps and Rice. Yes? Yes.
