<p>I remember now about how last November, I was sure I was going to OSU. I would be rejected from Chicago, and Ohio Wesleyan just wasn’t good enough. Then after I got my Chicago acceptance, I thought for two days that I’d be going there. And then the financial aid letter came, and I knew it wouldn’t work. I also got my full tuition scholarship letter from Ohio Wesleyan, so that was my choice, basically until April. It’s really strange how it all works.</p>
<p>My mom said it would be easiest if I went to UT. But I won’t count my chickens before they hatch, gosh.</p>

<p>I have come up with some possible theses for my Extended Essay, on Molly Bloom’s Soliloquy from James Joyce’s Ulysses:</p>

<li>An in-depth analysis of an excerpt of Molly Bloom’s Soliloquy. I probably won’t do this, 'cause it’s sort of boring, but it’s still an option.</li>
<li>A comparison of Molly Bloom’s character to that of Penelope from The Odyssey, who is generally seen as the character she was modelled after.</li>
<li>A study of the differences in Joyce’s conception of male and female consciousness, as observed through the use of stream-of-consciousness narration to convey the thoughts of characters Stephen Dedalus and Molly Bloom.</li>
<li>An analysis of key themes in Molly Bloom’s Soliloquy.</li>
</ul>
<p>Tricky, tricky.</p>
<p>Well, I love the third one, but I’m stupid like that. It’s certainly the hardest of your options, but that makes it the best one. Frankly, I would be bored if I had to write a 4000 word character comparison.</p>
<p>The Fountainhead is messing with my brain.</p>
<p>Yeah, I’m beginning to lean toward that one as well. I’m really hesitant to turn everything into a silly compare and contrast essay. If I were to use the Penelope one, I’d sort of write about how Penelope inspired the character of Molly Bloom, rather than about comparing the two.</p>
<p>Inspiration is tricky to write about.</p>
<p>I’m going to make a work of digital art. I’m going to think about it for days and days, and then I’m going to think about exactly how to do it before I start. The reason my art fails is that I lack vision. So I’m going to fix that.</p>
<p>I stayed up until 3:30 AM last night writing my extended essay. I can’t control when inspiration hits.</p>
