Of course you are. Of course.

I have to read The Scarlet Letter for English. I want it to die.

Of course you are. Of course.

I have to read The Scarlet Letter for English. I want it to die.

Curtis Mayfield is epic.

The Scarlet Letter seems pretty bad.

My English class this year is based heavily on short stories and poetry (ugh) so we’re only reading three books. The Great Gatsby, Macbeth, and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Margaret Atwood is the only Canadian author I will ever support.

I hate writing poems.

The Great Gatsby sounds like the kind of book I would idolize. I need to read it. My library’s copy is lost, puh.

We’ve got Mayor of Casterbridge, some stories from Dubliners by Joyce, Slaughterhouse Five, something by Kate Chopin, The Sound and The Fury, and a couple of other things I can’t remember. And a crapload of poetry. Overall not too bad though.

Snoop, don’t. It’s incredibly wordy, the symbolism is ridiculously cheesy, and the plot sucks. I hate that book.

I am hopelessly in love with dystopian fiction. Especially when it has a distinct political edge. Like in Animal Farm or 1984.

I was into that in 7th grade. It spoke to me, you know. But most of it seems incredibly heavy-handed to me.

I have no idea what we’re going to read this year. We just finished the play Our Town. I wanted to shoot myself in the face. So boring. So pointless. So BAD. But we were reading it out of an anthology, so while everyone else was suffering, I read Twelve Angry Men. It was nice.

We haven’t actually read anything in lit yet, we’ve spent our whole time so far learning how to read. You read that correctly. We’ve read all these articles on how to read with “dispassionate imagination and artistic delight” or something like that. My teacher will slap you if you say that you really identify/connect with the character, I guess you’re not supposed to. It’s actually kind of interesting.

I killed the thread.

I wonder if Roddick is winning.

Wow, this is what I get for doing homework for two hours. I missed tons of good post opportunities.

I think my list class will read two novels this year, and one of those will be independent. And we’re reading Inferno, but not the whole thing. How is it POSSIBLE to read the Inferno, and not read the whole thing? It’s all based on numbers. It ALL has to be there.

Please tell me you guys saw those protesters during the McCain speech.

I didn’t watch it. I have to watch it in government tomorrow, so I decided I’d refrain for the evening. I suppose I can update you tomorrow, if you like.

McCain sucks. Republicans are enough to make me want to move to Canada.

You’re going to move to Yak? That makes no sense.

I’d even move to Montr

Should I stay up and watch a possible epic comeback by Roddick, or go to sleep?

Decisions, decisions…

That’s a no-brainer. Go to sleep. I’m sure it will be on YouTube in the morning.

It’s not the same. It never is. I have very fond memories of staying up past my bedtime to watch big sporting events.

I just watched the Parle

Bah homework.

Snoop, should I apply to Tulane? It’s free and there’s no essay. I would have to send scores, that costs something I guess.
