The Cafe Watering Hole

I haven’t read any Shel Silverstein. I need to, though, for realz.

The Scarlet Letter can go die. The teacher gives us worksheets about the theme and stuff, but we do them in class and he tells us the answer. So pointless.

Worksheets about theme? Sounds rigorous. We do the same thing everyday, read for hw, discuss all class period, with the occasional essay thrown in.

Mango is delicious.

Oh yeah. It stresses me out immensely to just think about those ten vocabulary words I need to know, like scrupulous and infamy. OMG so hard.

And this is where I depart.

Adios. I’m of to analyze poetry, yay…

I have one German assignment to do, but my legs ache so much from swimming that I don’t want to do it.

Eh, I’ll just get it over with and go to bed. And then wake up early and swim… again.

What is your assignment? Weight lifting exercises where you count in German? “Eins, zwei. Eins, zwei.” I think that’s right. I haven’t contemplated German since 7th grade.

I finished my lit crit paper. I’ve now successfully deconstructed the major theme of the movie I was criticizing. In college prep English, we write about movies instead of books. I guess people are too inept to read? We read one novel in class per year, and one on our own, where we don’t have to do very much. Yeah.

Tonight I’m writing all sorts of other things. I have two articles for the school paper, and a poem for Spanish. It’s an acrostic poem, and of course I drew the girl’s name that’s the longest in the class, with umlaut in it. We’ll see how that goes.

Well, my assignment had nothing to do with physical labor (it was actually the easiest assignment I’ve had to do since eighth grade), but the soreness in my legs certainly was distracting. I got a 99 on my German test, though, which is pretty nice.

I’m going to fencing tonight: I hope I get to actually fence again. The drills aren’t bad, but actually doing bouts makes the drills look positively dreadful.

Holy mother of gawd.

I have been getting really crappy grades so far this year. In calculus, I got a 95 on my first quiz and a 90 on the second one. That’s atrocious, since I have to keep a 95 in every class to keep my 4.0. And I HAVE to keep that 4.0, or else I can just kiss good colleges goodbye. If I drop to a 3.99, I’ll be ranked #3, and no good college is going to accept someone that’s ranked 3/50, a 2110 SAT, and mediocre ECs.

Well. I’m off to the gym.

You do that, Canadian.

I have an audition tonight.

PS: DVR, I wish you wouldn’t go to the gym at such inopportune times.

What are you auditioning for?

Well then, it looks like someone returned to CC.

Not really.

I wasn’t talking about you.

Vectors are silly.

I know that, daft Canadian.

English is silly.

English and vectors are both equally silly.

I can’t survive without a planner.

Bluetooth is tiring.

Project Runway is ridiculous.

It is, but the people who like it are even more ridiculous.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd is epic.
