The Cafe Watering Hole

I desperately need to find a good picture to write about for my 2000 word philosophy essay. I’m open to any suggestions. I was going to do this and write about the debate on objectivity and subjectivity and our perceptions of the world around us, but that seems bland and boring to me because I’ve read too much about it.

I’m really open to any suggestions, so long as I can identify a philosophical issue in the painting.

Write about magic.

AHAHAHAHAHAH da bears.

Pshht. You barely beat our backup.

Awww, I liked “Ceci n’est pas une pipe” better. You could have written something wonderful about how tradition limits our viewpoints.

And yet, barely seemed to be enough.

Backup, snoop, backup. You beat a guy with an IQ of 15. The bears will win the NFC north, so this game doesn’t even matter. Thank God the packers and the vikes are so bad this year.

Mhmm.

Giants v Titans at the Super Bowl. You better believe it.

Giants aren’t making it back. The bears will win the NFC North and then lose in the first round. You heard it here.

HW time.

I have no school tomorrow.

You never have school. What’s up with that?

Instead of having no school on Tuesday, which is Veterans Day, we have no school tomorrow.

The military has a four day weekend. Bah.

You guys get time off for Veterans’ Day too? How much I’ve missed by living in Ohio! I guess I got Thursday and Friday off for conferences, so I can’t complain.

I live next to a military base. It would be blasphemous to have school on Veterans Day.

Is it bad that the thing I miss most about my friends in college is how bad they were at poker?

Perhaps. I only vaguely know how to play poker.

Here, we have Remembrance Day, and no one gets a day off. All schools have silly assemblies, though, and I’m reciting a Spanish poem about peace at mine. Multicultural poetry is a big deal here.

So, tomorrow we have to present our topics for the silly philosophy essay, and then we’ll discuss them with my teacher to figure out what we can write about and stuff. I’m doing either this or this, and I’ll let my teacher tell me which one makes sense.

Poker is my main source of income, currently. I had more games last year though, it sucks. I need to find a couple of junior games.

Both are wholly uninteresting. Maybe the first one.

We have an epic assembly on Veterans Day. EPIC.

We don’t have school on Veteran’s day. It’ll be weird to have a Tuesday off.

I’m starting to like the first one more, too. I didn’t even notice how much I could write about it at first. Inequality, the noble savage, Rousseau, Hobbes, etc.

But the second one is good too, just because subjectivity and objectivity and our perception of reality is a big deal in philosophy.
