The Cafe Watering Hole

Bleck. I’m writing an “Artist’s Statement” to go along with my portfolio. Psh. 300 words. I’m currently at 95. I find it laughable that I’m sitting here telling about my lovely photography, when in reality, it totally sucks. And I have to come up with a teacher or principal or somebody else at school who is familiar with my photography work. I’ll probably end up having the art teacher write something quick for me. I guess I have a few other options. I’m not an art student, so this complicates matters. I suppose the letter of recommendation just has to be something generic to verify that I’m actually this good (bad).

Sorry. I’m rambling again.

I wonder who’ll get the 10,000th post

If it’s like our other landmark posts, we won’t even notice.

And miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep.

It’s weird, I’m getting really excited picking housing with my friends for a school I probably won’t go to, which then makes me sad when I think about not going there with them. Oh well.

Someone called from UChicago today. I felt bad telling her that I don’t know if I can go. She sounded so nice. Anyway, I hope I get to go. Come on, financial aid! You can do it!

I’m sure it will all work out, JB.

Sleep.

I failed my math test. It’s all good.

^You fail a lot of tests, and then you get them back, and you didn’t fail them. Or do you Asian fail them? I Asian fail too many tests.

I’m officially a speaker at graduation, so long as I keep my 4.0. Ooh, pressure. Now I feel like I have to work even harder for exams. No senioritis for me.

I’m having an über-productive night. I’m quite proud of myself. But I’m nowhere close to done yet.

No, I only answered maybe 4 questions out of 8. And I didn’t get them right. So.

I am not being productive at all.

procastinating writing 2000 word essays ftw!!! woot woot. I barely have 100 words and am in no rush to keep on writing.

Putting an umlaut on the U in “uber” is so unnecessary.

The Great Gatsby sucks.

^yes it does, I remember 2 years ago going “damn, i don’t want to read this crap.”

I don’t even know if Umlaut belongs on the “u” in “uber.” I just put it there for giggles. “Umlaut” should be capitalized.

I’ve gotten so much done tonight. I deserve a cookie.

You so didn’t put it there for giggles.

But please have a cookie. Maybe even an entire baker’s dozen. Plz.

The Turn of the Screw sucks.

Okay, fine. I put it there because I’m a pretentious snob. But it made me giggle. So there.

I didn’t have a cookie.

The word “über” does have an umlaut. Umlaut doesn’t have to be capitalized, though: we don’t capitalize zeitgeist, schadenfreude, or kindergarten.

Last night was terrifying. The roads were so icy I slid down a hill and fishtailed into a cop car. Fortunately, the cop’s car was undamaged, mine only has a crack on the bumper, nobody got hurt, and the cop was my neighbour.

I capitalize Kindergarten. I don’t use the other words often enough to say if I capitalize those.

Your neighbour??? NOOOO!!! The Canadian sphere of influence has invaded your soul. Summon all of your inner strength and banish it!

I found the most awesome quote for my speech. It’s by Jerry Seinfeld. "According to most studies, people’s number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. Death is number two. Does that sound right? This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you’re better off in the casket than doing the eulogy.”

It’s so perfect! This is for a speech about speech. I really hope no one takes my quote. I’ll just volunteer to go first.

I just read the Wiki for Stuyvesant High School. BAAAAAD idea.

I don’t care what you think as long as it’s about me.

Damn you, Fall Out Boy. Damn you.
