The Cal Bar

I have a really specific question… does anyone know when the final for Poli Sci 179 is?

Are you allowed to double major in Integrative Bio and English (or Integrative Bio and History)? Anyone done it?

this forum is dead. i do believe that many people were/are taking midterms

ccbound: You are right, it is midterm time!

38Angel: You are “allowed” to double major in both Integrative Biology and English if you want… English is not an easy major, either in Bio. I recommend looking at the requirements for both majors before you decide if you want to commit to both, but it is doable.

QUESTION:

If I SIR’ed to both Berkeley and UCSD will this cause a problem or can I still choose between the two down the road?

You only send an SIR to the school you are planning to attend. So, if you send two SIRs then yes it will cause a problem. Best case scenario: you tell the school you don’t want to go to that you don’t want to attend. Worst case scenario: they find out you sent SIRs to two schools and revoke your acceptance to both.

Quick question: anybody know the admit rate for international (out of state) students this year for Cal? Actually, info from last year would be much appreciated too. Thanks.

How are the parties and the weed at berkeley?

berkeley is weedtown, homie. =)

pyro, where are you from man?!?!? the grass here is PRIMO, it is better than anything i’ve ever smoked. I go home, and i can’t get half baked on that shwaggy weed, because berkeley/norcal weed is just sooooo damn good.

parties are fun, you just gotta be outgoing and know the people.

i live in fremont bro but ive never smoked berkeley green which is pretty sad. is it hard to manage between parties and school?

no, it’s not hard to manage, you just gotta be smart about things. Weekends here start on thursdays, because alotta people don’t have class fridays, so if you’re good with you schedule you can have nice weekends.

Cops in berkeley are 50/50, the UCPD is full of jackass cops who, instead of prtoecting people and students, like nothing better than to bug students smoking pot on campus. the Berkeley PD have nothing better to do but stop people from having parties. But you learn where/what to do, and everyone has their little smoke spots.

good luck man, pot’s pretty easy to get up here of course, but i’m from so-cal, where the weed’s way more expensive, so it’s kinda shocking to buy an 8th of purple/trainwreck for $40.

oh yea $40-$45 is the common price for an 8th, but definitely get your hands on some purple afghani. how are the frats?

frats are fun, when you’re up here, check’m out. If you’re well connected enough like i tend to be, you can find a frat party everyweekend.

i agree with punkdude, the weed is incomparable to anything else i’ve smoked. def. at its prime…

Are there are a lot of cheap eats that are open late within walking distance of the dorms? That is sort of a must for me.

There are plenty of places to eat around, you won’t go hungry. :)

Oh, dude, if there’s one thing about Cal that’s > UCLA, it’s the local eateries.

how does getting around work without a car? are there nearby markets and restaurants?

Most people I know work on Campus or really nearby. I tutored at an elementary school 1t semester and took the bus (could have walked.) Parking is really hard to get and not worth it. I am leaving my car home next year too.

There’s a Safeway about a mile or so from Campus… you can usually get their quicker than waiting for the 51 bus. And there are restaurants surrounding the campus, really good ones too.
