<p>With as many health topics as we like to discuss here, I wouldn’t be surprised if we started seeing pharma ads.</p>

<p>I wonder if the folks hanging out on the Sinner’s Alley thread see liquor ads. Hmmm</p>

<p>I visited that thread recently for the first time, and so far no Jim Beam or Smirnoff ads have been coming up. Not even Bud. ;-)</p>

<p>Of course I hadn’t actually consumed any alcohol either. How did the cookie know that?!</p>

<p>I AGREE----FIREFOX with adblock add-on. Works great. I was trying Safari and Chrome recently, and just went back to Firefox. <p>for the last few weeks, I’ve been getting the same two or three colleges (just switching between the side and the top). But…today new one’s showed up…weird.</p>

<p>I accidentally clicked on a car insurance ad and now they’re all car insurance ads. Gives me a mind to clear my cookies.</p>

<p>And I’m already on Firefox 4, so maybe I will get that ad blocker.</p>

<p>You can opt out of Google ads. (Those are the ones that follow you around.) Google “opt out of Google ads” (ironic, isn’t it?) and you will see a link for the Google privacy center. There is a button on the right that says Opt out. If you click that, you will be served up random ads instead of ads based on where you’ve surfed. I did it a few weeks ago, and it worked. I had been really annoyed by one particular ad that was following me everywhere.</p>

<p>You mean none of you get those ads about getting rid of belly fat? Or how to play and change your face? Both of those show up for me in addition to various and sundry schools.</p>
