Hi, I’ll probably be applying ED to Princeton. But don’t put me on the list just yet. I was wondering if everyone here has received a viewbook, 'cause I haven’t gotten mine yet.

ED Princeton all the way! Tears, I didn’t see an option for an additional essay either…kinda bummed about that : (

No, actually I found out where that was – it’s in the PDFs that we download later, along with our teacher recs and school report… But that optional essay is kinda important to my app, and I’m afraid it’ll get overlooked, seeing as it’s arriving separately and probably a bit later (meeting the postmark deadline).

Sometimes I’m afraid I’ll make a fool of myself by counting wrong… 19, 20, 22, 23… And not even unfounded, because that’s the sort of thing I trip up on in the SAT math.

EDIT
Oh no, I did, and forgot someone. Oops! Sorry!

I went to the college visit today and they said that the pdfs and the paper versions for all the other forms will be available at the end of august. However, if you’re applying common app with the supplements, that will be available at the end of this week

Ooh, thanks, Letitia! :D

Is anyone else filling out their app with just plain old paper and mail? I just feel more secure watching the application physically leave me than emailing it, and I would rather write in some of the basic information.

Also, is anyone gonna fill in any of their app with pen? Or all typed?

Hey! I’m Radhika from India. Im applying ED Princeton too.

I’m doing mine in pen and paper, but I’ll fill in the online version and use it as a better-insured rough draft.

Does anyone know what the word limit is for the additional essay? I started writing one of the 250 ones and found the task to be nearly impossible (for me). I started writing bits and pieces of the most important parts and that alone is around 250 words!

btw, Cfunke, do you mean you’re doing both…sending in a p&p one and also sending it via internet?

nah that would be a bit odd to send in two applications. Filling it out online is easier because you can make changes more readily and instantaneously, and you can also view the entire application and print that out. So I’m filling it out online and using that as my rough draft. Then I’m going to copy it onto the paper application with pen and send that one in as my application.

Hi, everyone. J from Anchorage Alaska. I think I know who hobbes is :p. I’m new here, but yes, i’m applying for princeton ed 2010!

Hey all, I’m a guy from a public high school in Oregon. I visited Princeton’s campus this week and really felt like it was a place I could spend four years at. It just felt so right, so I’ve decided to go ED there. The good thing is that I have five other schools I’d be really excited to go to (Stanford, plus two matches and two very solid safeties) so I won’t be devastated if I don’t get in, but I’ve definitely become excited about the possibility of heading out east for college.

For a little about me, I’m looking to go into psychology and maybe become a lawyer, but none of that is at all set in my mind yet. I’m tall and somewhat of a toothpick (for an athlete anyway); I drink gallons of whole milk mixed with strawberry syrup and yet I can’t seem to gain weight (horrible problem, yes, I know). I’ve played basketball and tennis throughout high school (and while I love the sports and will continue them in college, I know I’m not D1 recruiting material so I have no advantage there), and have been a part of the Scrabble Club, Gay-Straight Alliance, Trojans (our high school mascot) for Christ, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Some seem to think it’s strange I’m a Christian and I support gay rights, but Christianity not being about discrimination is something I feel very strongly about. I will spare you all the rambling on that topic. Oh, and I plan to start a connect four club next year, my favorite in-class “taking a break” paper game. The strategy is actually really interesting, and nothing says “Hello Princeton!” like “Founder and Co-Dictator of the Connect Four Club”. (copyrighted ;))

Anyway nice to meet you all. I lurk a lot around here and am trying not to get too caught up with all of the drama. I feel I’ll give it my best shot, and if it gets me in, I’ll have a nice dance to break out, and if not, I know I’ll still have a great environment elsewhere.

gasp I’m the same! =)

Very cool, Marli :)

Mine were atleast 400 - I did the online app but still managed to fit in all of it somehow :)

yeah it’s hard to find a topic that you can write so little about but still make it meaningful :(

Don’t worry too much about the word limit. Just let it flow until you’ve said everything you’ve had to say. Then go over it a day later - you’ll definitely find extraneous material which can easily be removed!
