The Class of 2010 ED Thread/Roster

Cool. How is that hippy-like? We do that here. I still wish I went to Walton, though… it’s an academic powerhouse! It’s like a friggin private school. But, like private schools, it’s full of rich folk.

runningncircles1 - neato, I’m in Cherokee/woodstock, finishing highschool at KSU (woodstock high school districk) GA ROCKS!!!

40 Minututes to SAT november … GL all!!!

well Kj, its half psat 6 in tasmania, isnt it? doesnt sat start at 8? are u doing the sat today? good luck to all anyway…

when and how are we getting ED decisions? via email/regular mail and the exact date? just curious, this info i couldnt find on the website.

oh yeah…and do you really get a bigger (thicker or larger?) envelope for acceptances??

i guess none of us would really know that though…

what I understand is that rd you would but when you apply ed all oyu get in december is a letter saying you got in so the envelope is still really small. if i’m wrong maybe someone else will correst me

yeah…how do we get ED notification? By mail…because if that happens…its gonna take about 2 weeks to reach my country- by the time deadlines for other unis are going to pass! That can’t be right?

how was SAT??

yeah, I don’t know why we have a hippy reputation. I didn’t know Walton was such an academic powerhouse. A lot of people from our school go to ivies, but not many go to Princeton. In fact, I’m the only one applying from our class this year. This year, EVERYONE wants to go to Brown or Yale. There are like, 10 kids applying to EA to Yale, and, sadly, I don’t think Yale will take that many kids from one school. Are there any others from your school applying to Princeton??

My name’s Rob and I’m an alcoholic.

Three people from my school applying to Princeton. This is really weird and a break from norm. Normally everyone applieds to UVA.

And all three of us have most of the stuff/classes/ECs/interests in common.

I and another guy from my school are the only two applying ed to Princeton. There might be more in RD round. But in general, Princeton is not the most popular choice at my school. Yale, Columbia, UPenn are much more popular. The year before, my school sent 6 kids to yale. Last year, only two got into yale, but there were like 6 to 7 students accepted by Columbia, and around 10 wento georgetown.

BTW, can anyone confirm that Princeton only looks at your highest score on each section if taken more than once?

can anyone please answer my question?

I don’t think Pton does email notifications…can anyone confirm this? and alwaysfaithful, Princeton does not take the highest scores if I’m not mistaken

that would be bad, i thought they only look at the highest score for each component according to what i have heard from other people. I am just not sure!

interesting, 3 including myself applying ed…one’s a hispanic with higher scores and grades than the other person and me, the other is a girl with slightly bad scores but her brother went there, so i figure being the “mediocre” white doesn’t really help me against a minority and a pseudo-legacy

Well, they say that they don’t compare you to people at your school, but I don’t see how they could avoid doing so.

yeah, well that’s bologna, they dont want to accept lots of kids from an average public school…maybe one who fills a vacancy they need…
