“We recommend, but do not require, that all applicants for September 2006 entry take the new SAT Reasoning Test at least once. Score reports from the testing agency will include all of your SAT scores (old and new). We will consider your highest score for each component of the tests.”

I found this on Princeton’s website, do they really only look at the highest scores? or do they take the rest of the scores into consideration as well as starry said? I have heard so many conflicting views.

well, they may look at previous to check consistency, say, if you’ve taken it four times, and the first three you got all 600’s and the last one you got 700’s, they might idk…idk know where i’m going with this

I think I’m the only student to apply ED to P-ton from my school… pretty much ever. Well maybe not ever, but I haven’t heard of anyone doing it in the past 3-4 years.

well my logic is that they take your highest combined score only for statistical purposes…but since they do see all your scores, all your scores will factor in. Theres no avoiding it if you think about it. If you get a 800 math but also have a 550, the adcoms are going to be like “hmmmm this person either cheated or worked really really hard”

then what’s the use of saying"we will only consider your highest score on each section" if it’s just for statistical purposes? then the whole “looking at the highest score” thing won’t help the applicant at all?

I have 800’s on math iic and physics, a 6 on AIME but I got a 690 once on my sat math. How can I let them know that it was a stupid bubbling mistake?

Same here – I am the only one who applied to Princeton ED from my school. Actually, only 5 kids total applied ED, everyone else is applying RD (other schools, NOT Princeton) so they can evaluate their options ($$$).

I got an e-mail from princeton like 30 mins ago that they recieved my app and have opened a file for me.

It’s weird, coz I thought to mailed it to you, not e-mailed. Besides, I would expect e-mail to be instant or something but they took like a week to reply.

It doesn’t seem fair. Paper app people needed to turn in their apps 9 hours earlier than online filers, and got files opened a week later.

At least that gives me hope that my community college transcripts are going to get there in time. Grr… they wanted like, 10 days processing time and it took me close to forever to make them send it at all.

Wow… I don’t feel so bad about not using the common app anymore… although it means more work for other schools. But hopefully we won’t need them!!! :D

annandale, when did you send your application? I sent the common app in the middle of October, but the supplement on 1st November… thank God I saw it…
