The Class of 2010 ED Thread/Roster

i’m like willy wonka. i dabble in many creations. that doesn’t make sense.

Sparkledust - ahhh this is all such a huge misunderstanding!!! Before when you typed “i’m waiting to see who will offer me the best package” (or something like that) i just assumed that you meant scholarship package for running. I just thought i’d let you know that you can’t get an athletic scholarship from ivies… which obviously you knew! So i’m sorry if you interpreted that another way… i really didn’t mean to cause the confusion. :)

In December i’m gonna remind you about this, and we’re gonna laugh… ;)

Welcome to the ED fam!

koala717, that’s okay, we all get misunderstood sometimes. I do honestly wish the best for you in all your dreams and your hopes in going to Princeton. It’s a one in a life time school with sooo sooo much to offer. By the way, do you live in New, Jersy, and is the weather really as beautiflul as people say it is. My teacher is from there; she’s italian. she tells me all about new jersey and how she wishes she didn’t move to KY. But she is here. Well thanks!!!

so what do you guys like most about princeton?

i love walking in the snow which is just as well since biking in the snow for me is like a root canal without anesthetics.

It’s hard to decide on one thing I like most, but I do like the magnolias in spring. Magnolias have such a deep meaning in my life, and to be able to see them everywhere would be heavenly.

Replying to Hamster’s q about the gap year (back on Page 6):

right now im chillin…taking it easy. Im starting to get a patent through for a lil invention of mine, and im getting a book of short stories published. this will hopefully get done by nov. + study for the darn SAT. the rest of the year will be spent in working, travelling, learning some photography, working for an orphanage, + doing 2 APs.

then…next sept. il be at princeton

but the old proverb: if horses were wishes, beggars would ride :(

I like the gothic buildings and the fact that the fall time is beautiful and that it’s near the ocean. I also like the way the proffesors teach

yeah, everything about the campus is pretty much my favorite part. It’s beautiful.

NJ weather is definitely not everything it’s cracked up to be… freezing in the winter, boiling in the summer… i do, however, enjoy that one week in spring when everything is perfect. ;)

we all know princeton is sweet

my friend in mj wears short sleeves and shorts sometimes when its 40 degrees. i was in canada last year and it was 40, good for a canadian winter. but i sure didn’t wear short sleeves.

anyone know when the app reveals itself

hm… I think in August.

My calculus teacher tells us that when he was in college (at U of I Urbana-Champaign) there was this group of guys who where determined to wear shorts and flip-flops every day of the year. So in January, they’re trodding through the snow in flip-flops, and when people asked them how they can stand it, one of the guys said, “Well, after a while you can’t really feel your feet anymore. But it kinda hurts when they start getting warm again.”

hahaha. can we take two languages at p-ton

shrug I’m pretty sure you can do whatever you want with all of the time you have apart from the requirements. I’m pretty torn between taking up Chinese or German, finishing up Japanese, and learning Greek. Of course, it’ll kill me to do all four, but I guess I still have a lot of time to decide. :p

lol! this year there was a particularly bad snowstorm in what should have been spring… a few kids in my grade decided to protest by wearing sunglasses to school, and by the end of the week, about half the school was doing it. it was pretty sweet ;)

do people say dude on the east coast? i’m trying to drop my habit.

lol! I almost never say “dude,” and I’m in socal. But while we’re on the topic: I can recognize New York accents and southern accents. When I went on vacation to Yellowstone one time, someone told me I had a Californian accent. What does a Cali accent sound like to you?

i think in california we just say “like” and “dude.” at least i do. stupid coastal surfer folk. just kidding. those words are melted into my subconscious. id on’t know i jsut think we don’t sound like people from ny, ma, chicago, etc. people from alaska sound like us. mostly.

oh by the way i was on the pton site and they said the online app is available sept 15, 2005. does that mean app itself won’t be available until then?

The name’s slipperyeel and I am a Kentuckian, and I don’t have a mullet, and I haven’t been smoking since the age of six.

I go to a Roman Catholic High School and I am indeed a Catholic. I like English and reading and history, but I don’t understand poetry. I like Red Cream Soda. Barq’s Red Cream Soda, not Big Red.

I have reservations about Princeton and other Ivies because of snobs and preps and the word “Ivies,” but I’ll probably still do EA. I like Leslie Nielson movies (especially such critically-acclaimed clasics as “Dracula: Dead and Loving It,” “Mr. Magoo,” and anything starring LT. Frank Drebin with OJ Simpson costarring) and all “Seinfeld” episodes. I don’t like food stuck between my teeth or people who say “same difference.”

I like a writer named P.J. O’Rourke and I share most of his political viewpoints; I don’t like politics. I like to attempt crossword puzzles, but I’m no good at them. I’m nice, too. I don’t like bow ties or smalltalk amongst the anchors of local news stations.

So, that’s my introduction.

er… I don’t want to burst your bubble or anything, but Princeton has ED rather than EA. If you apply ED, it’s best not to have reservations, because it’s binding; i.e. if you’re accepted in December, you are forced to accept the offer and withdraw all other apps.

Just a little warning…
