If you shoot me a PM I’ll let you know more details.
@NYart15 - My S auditioned on campus at Ohio last month and we were told that we shouldn’t expect to hear anything until AT LEAST the end of February as they normally wait until they have completed all auditions on campus as well as unifieds before they make their selections. That being said, I do recall one parent posting that they had received a YES after their on-campus audition last October. So we are patiently waiting.
@Mark80
Thanks!
Good luck to all the kids at Unifieds!! Can’t wait to hear all the stories! Please share!!!
So dad (me) came a little early from the hotel which is a block and a half away. Signed D up for a couple walk-ins for tomorrow. First audition wasn’t until 9:50, so no worries, right? Wrong - at 9 I checked my phone to see my D and her mom were nearly a mile away on the other side of the river. GPS apparently found a different Palmer House… I called them and told them they were heading the wrong way and they needed to get a cab immediately. Went and waited at the curb, because as anticipated neither had any cash or cards on them… I paid the cabbie and we got upstairs to the audition at 9:35… and she thinks it went really well. They all have to be easier from here…
LOL @afterp89 - it’s always something! Glad audition went well!!! Maybe not having time to be nervous was good.
@afterp89 That is pretty funny (in retrospect of course, stressful at the time!). Hopefully it only gets better from here.
@afterp89 - funny story but glad all worked out…who had the walk ins available in CHicago that you signed up for…others you have seen accepting walk ins thus far?
@NYYFanNowMTdad there have been a lot of walk ins available here in Chicago. Today I’ve seen Rosevelt, Southern Illinois, University of Barcelona, Royal Conservatorie of Scotland, LIPA, Ohio Northern, Baylor, Five Towns, University of Illinois, University of Oklahoma, University of Arizona, SCAD, University of Alabama, Dean college, University of Southern Illinois- Carbondale, Arcadia, Coastal Carolina
great info thanks @Boilermom , good luck all!!
@afterp89 oh boy! Glad it worked out!
U Utah was also taking walkins…Viterbo too, I think.
Although stressful, S is enjoying unfiieds so much! And yes, schools that weren’t on the radar screen have def been added and applied to!
Ok for those keeping track of Chicago walk ins. University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point, Ohio University, Nazareth college at the Palmer. Then Suny Purchase and Missouri State at the Hyatt
Arcadia University (north Philly suburbs) is doing walkins. Room 20-250.
Fun audition, Professor Wade is great and if you’re looking for study abroad they have the most programs and most are funded.
Anyone know if the Rider dance call is difficult?
Also anyone know how many people university if arizona accept for MT???
U of AZ MT is pretty small/selective- maybe 15 students at the most
@musicaltheatre77 At auditions, they told us they took 10 MT and 5 Acting last year for a total of 15 in their program. They said it is a pretty typical annual number, but the mix of MT and Acting can change.
Correction on Nazareth College audition location here in Chicago. While they have an information table in the Palmer House, actual auditions take place off-site at the American Rhythm Center Fine Arts Building.
Clarification – University of Alabama-Birmingham is in the Palmer House accepting walk-ins (NOT University of Alabama – completely different, and not even here). My D thoroughly enjoyed her audition with UAB today – very nice people!
Another clarification – the University of Oklahoma is accepting walk-ins for ACTING only – not MT.
