@Karamiles Thanks for the info. Been checking the portal, now will start stalking the mailcarrier.
@CaliMTdreams , my daughter and I both got a good vibe from Webster. They seem like good people, and we liked them. They are on her top five list. She created her list based on the people she met at Unifieds, and less on the program reputation. It is a completely different list than we had in mind when we headed in to Unifieds, which was based on the program reputation. We now have an “avoid like the plague” list instead of a “dead to us” list. That list was also based on the people we met at Unifieds.
@Tulsa-Mom Which Unifieds did your daughter audition for them? My D was in LA. D’s list is a combo of “vibe” and reputation, but definitely more vibe. She put notes in her journal after each audition so when she looks back after getting all her acceptances…(total sarcasm) lol…she’ll be able to remember her first impressions of each and use that to help make her choice. And definitely the list is fluid. Any time someone asks her her top choice she can’t answer bc it’s always changing. Schools have definitely moved up and others have moved down after the audition process.
@CaliMTdreams She did all of her auditions in Chicago.
Last year Wright was rolling acceptances (at least they sent rejections and offers after fall auditions) don’t know why it is different this year but I can say the boy who is already accepted was a special case scenario - has a long relationship with the program and from what I understand said that is where he wanted to go and wouldn’t apply anywhere else if they gave him an offer - and yes he is good enough to get into other good programs. Kinda makes me rethink how to go about this whole process,LOL
S auditioned with CCM at Chicago Unifieds last Thursday. Sure expected to hear something (admit or reject) from them either yesterday or today (based on all reports). But it didn’t happen. Not 100% certain what to make of it, but my gut says it’s not good.
@“boola boola”. Definitely good. Maybe not a yes, but not a no. If it was a no, you’d know by now I’m pretty sure.
@calimtdreams my son did Chicago and LA. I feel like he had more good vibes in LA. I think everyone was more chill because it was the end of the season.
@“boola boola” it’s a good thing he has not heard yet. He is still in the running. Fingers crossed for him!!
@TexasMTDad - last year one of the schools said “we all look forward to coming to LA”! Of course, last year Noah’s Ark wasn’t being built, but I think LA is the end of a long line for the schools and it’s usually a pleasant place spend a weekend in February.
Crossing fingers and toes @“boola boola” ! It’s not bad news!
@TexasMTDad @theatremom10
Thanks for the encouragement! We hadn’t thought of it that way. Kind of geared up here st the end of the week to be either ecstatic or disappointed. But, imagine that, more waiting!
A good number of friends who attended NYC and Chicago Unifieds mentioned that the energy at LA Unifieds is definitely more relaxed and chill.
Has anyone heard anything from Ithaca? (good or bad)
@“boola boola” It’s definitely good news. CCM rolls out their no’s every week on Thurs/Fri. You get one as soon as you’re no longer in the running. Hang in there.
@getmeintoMT D’s friend got a no from Ithaca yesterday.
Thanks @speezagmom @CaMom13 and everyone else. This is a relief! I was under the impression that the Thursday/Friday following the your audition, the student would get a decision one way or the other. That’s why I was surprised that nothing came. And I know that a couple of kids that auditioned st Chicago Unis last week were admitted earlier this week.
Just love having a big envelope on the counter while the kid is off at an audition. Oh the waiting!
Congrats to everyone on their acceptances! We are waiting on that first one. But D has improved with each audition so hoping for the best!
HOW exciting @MTSongbirdMom !
Ohio Northern acceptance letter!
Interesting news to pass on. My son auditioned for acting/theater at Illinois State University today. (For us, this is our closest to home, gentle on the budget selection of his 10 applications.) They announced they have just hired Maggie Hess to come and develop acting/musical theater focus to lead to a BA in Musical Theatre degree option. It wasn’t clear if this degree will be available for our 2023 graduates, but may be a future contender for others. https://www.vasta.org/professional-index/profile/maggie-e-marlin-hess
My D has gotten one acceptance, 1 rejection and 1 “still in the running”. Hasn’t heard anything from the other schools and she did 6 in N.Y. and 5 in L.A. One school did say we wouldn’t hear until mid March, but that’s at least 3 schools from NY that have been silent. The wait is crazy…
