I don’t believe the schools are sadistic or mean. I think they just have not kept up with the ways social media impacts their acceptances and the immediate impact an acceptance has on those who did not hear. The schools are doing what they always did.
My son was in the class of 2015 so in 2011, eight (gulp!) years ago, maybe an acceptance was put on CC, and probably not immediately. There was no FB Courtney’s Break Room or The Green Room so the kids were also not connected and were not aware that an acceptance(s) to a certain was made.

Oh, and re: WL, I believe we were told the latest they have ever notified was 4/22.
My son has forbidden me from sharing CC scoop with him because he doesn’t want to worry in advance. He just wants to find out whenever the notification or phone call comes - good, bad or neutral. His Otterbein call came a couple days after the first one to post on here and I just sat on the information until his call came a couple days later. I think I’m the one who is into self torture.
Haha. I’m not sure why I continue to do it. He hasn’t heard from Penn State or Oklahoma even though I know notifications have gone out. So it feels like he’s been rejected to more schools than he actually has.
It makes it a little easier than he has Otterbein in the books which was one of his OMG schools. If nothing else came through, he would be ecstatic to go to Otterbein.
@MTauditions2019 - for Montclair - my S received an email this morning that there was a Status Update to his Montclair portal (he auditioned at the LA Unif). After his audition he emailed a thank you to the department head (who was at the audition) and mentioned that we had a trip planned to NYC in early March and that he would like to see the university. The guy responded and said to contact him directly and he would show him the department and introduce him to some students - which we hoped was a good sign. Well, S visited the campus yesterday and met with the head and then this morning received a “we’re sorry but…” letter in the portal It’s a shame because he loved the campus and this would have been his first choice. Just wish that the decision had been sent at least a couple of days before so as not to dangle the carrot in front of him! Thankfully he does have a few good options/acceptances but I think it still stung a little!
UKTOLA - that’s a terrible story. We live 20 minutes from Montclair State so know the campus well. My D auditioned last weekend and thought it went great though unfortunately got the no too, today. She doesn’t care that much - didn’t want to go to school right up the street anyway. That dept head needs his head examined to let your son come and visit and then reject him today. I think maybe you dodged a bullet.
@dramama3 I haven’t heard anything additional about Pace since Friday. But my D didn’t apply there…she has two friends that did. Heard campus was closed yesterday. I am sure you will hear on here when there is additional movement.
