S just got an acceptance email for Kent State BFA MT - wooohooo!!

A large portion of my D’s class at Pace came from the alternate list (including her)-I think around 10-12.
Got the official no email from FSU today. It was a long shot, but fun trying. She enjoyed the warm weather for the audition. She also got to look in on Grandpa near by. Congrats to those that did make FSU, my D was so impressed with the people she saw there and felt good to be in their company. BAL!
@sladdymtmom Congrats on the admission to Roosevelt. My D got an acceptance email from Roosevelt MT on Friday, she is super happy about it.
@“boola boola” we are also from FL waiting for FSU news. My D just got an email from FSU, she got into their waitlist. She applied to MT BM and the email came from the Music Department.
Hey!! I’m ending my freshman year at WMU right now as a MT. Please please please reach out to me if your child has been accepted! I’d love to start working on the pooling the incoming freshmen together… the entire theatre student body is super curious, too! Also, feel free to reach out if your child has been waitlisted. A LOT of super talented people in the program have been waitlisted, including over half of the current freshmen class, so I’d love to offer any advice/words of wisdom or encouragement.

@caralf1 My S received the same email this evening … waitlisted for MT BFA at FSU.
My daughter is a Pace alternate. To understand what that means exactly I called the school to ask. So, each accepted student has an alternate, based on type and “essence “. If the accepted student declines the offer, the alternate takes their place. If the accepted student decides to attend Pace the alternate then goes to a priority waitlist.
Anxiously still waiting for Viterbo and Arizona State results. 8->

My D got the “no” yesterday from Pace. She’s been amazing with how well she processes the nos. Thankfully she had yeses first to soften the blow. So far she has 6 yeses, 3 nos, 1 waitlist and still 4 more to hear from…ugh. Unfortunately her fave school is in this last group so the waiting is h-a-r-d… I will be so glad when this is all over so we have only one choice and can move on.

Anyone have any insight in to U Alabama-Birmingham? It’s a newer program (4 years), but they seem to be doing great things, and the curriculum looks good, and my impression is that the faculty is wonderful and top notch! Any additional insights into the school, the area, the MT program specifically? Any current students/parents on here?

Anyone have any thoughts about accepting an offer to a small program…phone call vs. email when you’ve developed a personal relationship with the head of MT dept.? I feel that a phone call is needed, but D is adamant about not calling. Thoughts?
