@penny1234. Another idea is your D could take some of her GEs online this fall that will transfer into American to take the pressure off her when she has rehearsals, etc. Start in the spring but with some work behind her already.
Congratulations to those that got Missouri State Acceptances! This is one we have been waiting to hear on.
I have appreciated schools that give clear dates and clear notifications.
I feel like if you are going to string someone along be honest about it. In light of knowing about social media, why wouldn’t they just say you are on the waitlist and just leave it at that.
This wording is so strange to me, knowing that plenty of acceptances have gone out…
“Please know that we are still in deliberations for next year’s freshman class and that you are still very much in consideration. We apologize for the amount of time this is taking but is due to many factors beyond our control. Hopefully, we will have more concrete information regarding your status by the end of this week or early next week. As soon as we do, we will contact you immediately”
This was a program I was very excited about for my son. Unfortunately he did not enjoy his audition experience at Chicago Unifieds and this letter didn’t help.
Anyway…just venting. Again thankful for other acceptances and genuinely happy for those who did receive a yes!!
@lithpool , just got the reroute to BA performance at WestConn. So we will pass and look at our other great options.
This is such a brutal process - our kids are SO amazing that they can even attempt all of this. Wishing the best to everyone who is struggling with waiting and/or decisions.
@Kristern1 Tell your S that although the school has been transitioning under its new director the last couple of years, it’s an incredible program and the best bang for the buck in the whole market!
So far D has heard “crickets” from Hartt, Montclair, and OU. I do know of a couple of OU acceptances. Has anyone else heard anything? Thanks!

@Kristiern1 I think the Missouri state wording is like that because they gave an April 1st deadline to commit. Although this is a soft deadline since a few were accepted late in March (like us). My S will visit in mid April and give decision then. So Maybe the waitlist will move after April 1st
@4angels if by OU you mean Univ. of Oklahoma, my daughter emailed to inquire about notification dates and the director replied last week - he said that they have extended initial offers and have a few kids on ‘standby’, but are still working on building their freshmen class. He also said that they haven’t declined anyone from the callbacks yet.

So my S got the weirdly worded email from Missouri also. Is “keeping him in the pool” essentially a wait list situation? It was a very encouraging email which was nice – nice to receive some encouraging words in this process! lol
@4angels Re: Montclair for Acting though, I emailed a week or so ago and they said sorry, you should have heard earlier, it’s a no. But her portal never updated and we emailed again to let them know she will not be attending regardless (she was accepted academically).
Notification from VITERBO came - redirect to Acting, but they said D can still take dance & voice. Planning a visit! Can anyone share their knowledge about this school, town, program?
For those getting the Missouri State “pool of consideration” emails if you are interested in getting an offer … email back that you’d accept one if granted. Last year these “under consideration” emails were followed up by “hard” notifications to a waitlist. So this is step one for some to getting an official waitlist notification. Missouri State is likely waiting on those given hard MT offers already to let them know before going to the waitlist. But if not your wish to get an offer … staying silent will likely help those that would love to get on waitlist & hopefully an offer. So communicate back if interested in being apart of their BFA MT class of 2023.

@pegski D also got the Missouri State email today. She was a late video audition. We have never even been to the campus but are hearing good things! I’m hoping this will be a viable choice for her, but it’s so hard with an Apr 5 deadline for another school (Western MI)! How do we accept a program (bird in the hand, right?) when there is still so much uncertainty? We are still waiting for 7 schools (Missouri being one of them) and 3 WL! I sure hope some of these programs decide before Apr 5! Anyone else having to make this choice?
