The Class of 2023- sharing, venting, discussing! - MT

@4angels we heard back from Hartt last week as well via email. Montclair we hadn’t heard and then saw someone post that if you hadn’t heard to double check your portal as there were 2 forms that admissions told them if they weren’t filled out you wouldn’t get your decision. These forms were not originally in the portal. One was asking if you would attend even if you didn’t get into your chosen program and the other was for out of state people. As soon as we filled those out D got her decision within 2 days.

@Boilermom I called Montclair admissions as well re: those 2 questions & they said they only had to be answered by May 1 & that we should get our decision shortly.

@lovetoact yes, she’d gotten the rejection awhile ago but they keep recruiting her for the school.

@lithpool yes, still waiting Temple too along with Montclair and OCU (Ok City)

@Boilermom oh my thank you!

@NYDreammom I’ll bet that’s us too. Thank you for sharing!

@afterp89 crazy…

@Boilermom @4angels For Montclair we had answered the forms too after reading on here in hopes to get the decision but that never worked hence I emailed and heard that way. Her portal never updated. That’s for acting though, maybe it works for MT. Good luck to all still waiting!

@hfstt201 and @MagsmomMT2019
My D is strongly considering Viterbo. She and DH are going to visit next week. Would love to hear impressions and thoughts as well! It is a loooooong way away for us.

@afterp89 LOL! daughter just got the Montclair rejection socks as well

@mamallovesllamas @hfstt201 My D is very strongly considering as well. We will be there on April 1st for the day. We live in CA so it is so far for us but she really loved them at the audition and her experience with them since has been lovely. She knows someone who goes there and the feedback has been really positive. I spoke with a mom who has a D there and again, great feedback so far. I guess we will really know once we spend a day on campus if it is her “fit” or not. She has other choices that we are visiting as well but really is leaning toward Viterbo right now.

We also got the Montclair socks today and are waiting to hear artistically. We called today and they said her application is still being reviewed and we would hear shortly

@MTMom2019 they had their last auditions two days ago (3/23) so hopefully soon!?

Re: Viterbo, We are from CA and my D also was accepted. I communicated with a parent on here who last commented about 3 years ago when his D was a freshman at Viterbo. He spoke so highly of it that I reached out to see if after a couple years he still had the same opinion. It was even better. He said the program was great for his D, the family loved the school and the area (they are from the south but visited a lot), she was in productions 7 out of 8 semesters and he mentioned that they would be starting a senior showcase with this next class of students. We also have a “friend of a friend” from our area who is a freshman there and from what I hear it’s been a fabulous fit for this student as well, for the program and as a community. My D still has 3 schools to hear from but I keep checking flights to the area bc I think she and my husband will be visiting there over spring break. It’s definitely high on her list especially after the positive feedback from others. One piece of advice I learned is to fly into Minneapolis/St Paul and drive to La Crosse. It’s cheaper than flying into La Crosse airport.

@CaliMTdreams @mamallovesllamas @hfstt201 My D and husband are voting Viterbo for accepted students day on April 6. Good to hear all these positive things. She’s strongly considering Viterbo too. Really loved them at unifieds.

@CaliMTdreams Thanks! We will be in Chicago for a family wedding next week, so we are going to just hop on over to Wisconsin for a day. They have a whole day planned for her, classes, lunch, visit with the head of the department. She is really looking forward to it! Yes, the La Crosse flights are pricey! Much less expensive to fly into Minneapolis!

So have some people gotten the socks from Montclair and gotten in? Or are the socks a definite artistic no. My d hasn’t heard artistic decsion yet.

I wonder if a school would think they need to improve their communication skills if people are actually wondering if receiving socks is an indicator of whether a student is accepted or not. This is such a funny example of how crazy this whole process is!!! :slight_smile: lol…

@CaliMTdreams Seriously I am sitting looking at the envelope that contains socks and wondering if we will be sad tonight or just more waiting.

So crazy about the socks! We were academically admitted months ago. Cancelled our audition and withdrew when we committed to Nazareth but keep getting emails and financial aid worksheets from them anyway. But, no socks! ???
