So which schools that have prescreens let you know the results on getacceptd, and which ones send a separate email instead?
@MToverload my D has been getting emails from GetAcceptd if a school uses that as a means to alert her to their prescreen decision. You then can log in to GetAcceptd and see the email and/or respond or sign up for an audition spot (ie Ithaca) if they use that as a means of communication. Other schools she has received a direct line of communication from the school itself, even though they asked for the materials over GetAcceptd. Either way, communication will come to your email, at least that is what we have found so far with my D.
@MTVTmom Thanks for the response. The waiting is killing me - I think it bothers me way more than my child! :">
Coastal Carolina was an Email despite applying on Get Acceptd; IU letter came through Get Acceptd. Still waiting on Shenandoah that was not through Acceptd website
Elon, Pace, CMU & Penn State sent their responses through getacceptd.
Any insight on Rider response time & method?
Re: Rider… My daughter sent prescreen to Rider on 9/13, received an email on 10/2 that she’d passed and more details would would come as the audition date that she selected (NYC Unifieds) came closer.
BoCo was an email
@ohiomtgirl22 if your daughter is looking at LIU, she should really look at Molloy/CAP21. Same regional area, similar distance from NYC, both schools have working theaters associated with programs.
@genderequality strongly suggest Roosevelt CCPA (I think there is a transgender student there). and Pace. And NYU if money is of no concern.
Make sure you check SPAM folder for prescreen notifications.
@MTMom624 How long did it take to hear back from BOCO? It’s been 4 weeks for us.
@2019wolves We submitted on September 18th and my S heard he passed on Friday.
@lovetoact Actually one of the prescreen schools on my D’s list told us during a visit that you send your prescreen in but the theatre department may never see it because if you are not academically accepted then it never gets forwarded to them but you are notified you didn’t pass the prescreen.
Anyone seem to notice that if you are awaiting prescreen results from a certain school, the number of emails you get from every other department at said school goes up exponentially!! My poor S is literally having a cow every time he sees an email from Shenandoah, only to be disappointed when it is some mass generated office of admissions message!
@ohiomtgirl22 Totally agree with @booknerdmom. My son was accepted to both LIU and Molloy/CAP. A visit to both campuses will show that they are very different places. I would recommend looking at both and visiting - either before auditions or after acceptances depending on what works for you. (We visited after acceptances.) My son chose Molloy so I can answer questions on their program if you have any.
@2019wolves My d heard back from Boco this past Friday as well but I think it was only for the kids that selected the December audition date.
waiting on these prescreen results is killer. my daughter submitted many of them 3 weeks ago. got her replies from Penn State and Pace within 48 hours and now just waiting on everyone else. I guess after the two very quick turn-arounds it’s making the wait for the rest extra-painful. I know I’m not the only one in this boat, thanks for letting me vent.
@El-Cee You are not alone. You have our permission to vent! LOL. Makes me wonder how many are going through the process this year. Sorry you are having to wait it out. But Good luck!
Has anyone received audition times for Ball State at Chicago Unifieds? I’m trying to plan!
The Pace website says an answer will be emailed within 5 business days but it’s been 7 business days since S19 submitted. And he keeps getting the generic auto generated reminders to submit his prescreens!
