The Class of 2023- sharing, venting, discussing! - MT

@caralf1 we were also waitlisted this year for BW. Fingers crossed for both of us!

@CaliMTdreams We’ve been waiting 2-4 weeks for some prescreen results. FEELS like it has been much longer! ?

Off-topic from pre-screens (wishing all of your children luck!!) does anyone know anything about Ohio Northern’s program? We know kids at the school, but not in MT.

@FlaMTmom Which schools are up to 4 weeks? Then I’ll know not to start climbing the walls!

Only one we’re still waiting on is Penn State and they said they wouldn’t look at the ones that were submitted in October until the end of Fall semester.

Pace says it needs SAT Score Report and School Transcript…, but it does not say “official.” It looks as though they want us to upload. Others I have seen use the magic word “official.” Help!

@CaliMTdreams My S submitted to Rider on 10/12. Also waiting on Otterbein, Penn State, and BOCO.

@FlaMTmom - I’d reach out to them and check the spam box in the email or on Acceptd in the messages section. My D submitted to Rider on 10/14 and heard back on 10/25 (unfortunately a no - maybe no news is good news). Otterbein sent to a whole bunch of folks on 10/31. Penn State won’t send until late December or early January if you submitted after 9/30. Not sure about BOCO.

@FlaMTmom D submitted to Rider 10/14 and still waiting too. Spam, etc… has been checked.

@BWmama, may want to ask an admission officer if they need official scores or not. Always great to save the $12 and extra delivery time if possible

Well we were finally scheduled to finish pre-screen filming Saturday. But D learned that a friend and fellow MT kid passed away last night. Suddenly pre-screens don’t seem so important to her. Hold on to your friends and family because tomorrow is not promised!

So Sorry to hear this @MTSongbirdMom. Praying for your D and her friend’s family. It really does put this whole MT process into perspective.

Does anyone know approximately how long it has taken for Ithaca to give prescreen feedback? We got it in a bit late and it has not been that long… it’s just the last one

Has anyone heard from Boco at all??

@mteverlasting , About Boco - My D submitted on Oct 11 and she got an email from them on Oct 26. I think there is another member on here that also heard back from them on Oct 26. The last pre-screen notification we are waiting on is Texas State.

So sorry! Very sad @MTSongbirdMom !

wow @MTSongbirdMom - sorry to hear of this tragedy…not that it helps but there was a. similar story ON these CC boards a year or 2 ago in the final decision thread form 2021 or 2022? about a kid in MT that passed away during this whole process a close friend/ former bf? of a girl who was auditioning…, I can try to find it for you, their was a youtube video for the kid from " changed for good" from Wicked can’t recall right now but maybe someone else on this thread will recall… maybe that parent or that young lady 1-2 years removed can be a good resource for you guys. again my prayers go out for you guys…

Truly Unifieds should move Chicago Unifieds to Dallas. Dallas is a Big Airport Hub (American & SWA) with less weather issues in February for people flying from both coasts. Having NYC & Chicago as sites is tooooo susceptible to winter snow & ice storms.

We are waiting on prescreen results from BoCo, Texas State, and Millikin. Submitted in early September. Texas State sent an email saying it would be December. D wants auditions in January so I’m guessing that’s why we’re still waiting. I will be happy when the “scheduling puzzle” is complete.

@Kwheel_2019 in regards to thank you notes. My D did hand written thank you notes after every audition. I don’t think it made a lick of difference. She also was emailing with MT Department Heads at various stages. Emails got responses back. Snail mail zero. Her guy friend also auditioning for BFA MTs emailed thank you’s and had more dialogue too. College Audition Coaches say to snail mail thank you’s. But truly people email today. Felt like a dying bit of polite protocol in retrospect to do the snail mail thank you’s. We did Fed Ex some thx you notes we wanted certain would be received.
