My dog misplaced her favorite toy and is looking at me like I know where she put it. We’ve searched in all of the usual and not usual places.

Of couse I want her to have her toy, but it is nice to get a break from Lamby. When she chomps on Lamby, Lamby respnds “baa BAA baa BAA baa BAA”

Our elderly schnauzer’s favorite toy is a blue, banana shaped object with eyes that squeaks. we call it “blue sqeaky man.” He’s had it for at least 10 years. (you can imagine its condition) Last month during March Madness, my D, home on spring break, bought him a squeaky basketball and hid Blue Squeaky Man. Dog was not amused. :)

Our dog has this large hard plastic ball with slots in it to drop in bits of dog biscuits. It is so large that in order to carry the ball, the dog has to open his mouth as far as it will go. Any time the dog is really bored, he gets this ball and drops it on the ceramic tile- never the carpeting. The noise is tremendous. We all hate the red ball. It disappears often.

When we got the puppy 7 months ago I purchased a dinosaur that was less likely to be torn up. The older dogs shreds all stuff toys, so she isn’t allowed to have them any more. This dinosaur was such a hit with both dogs that we now own it in a three colors, blue, pink and green! While they have not ripped them up, the single squeezer in the pink one has died, but they don’t seem to care.

My shepherd’s favorite toy is a blue plastic ball, slightly squishy, with a hole at each end. She has to take one of these balls on every walk and carries it in her mouth. I used to buy them at Target, but they stopped carrying them. After searching all the pet stores, I found them on line and bought ten of them! We keep them in a basket in the den, and when it’s time for a walk she runs in there to get one.

Oh, behind the couch…we find all sorts of things there! :)

My chorkie (yorkie/chihuahua mix) loves yellow soft squeaker toys. She’ll drive us nuts just squeaking, squeaking, squeaking. I think it’s some kind of stress reliever for her. We call them her “Binkies” (pacifiers)

She also treats them like a weapon. She goes up to the other pets and swats them in the face with them. One day, a cat is going to let her know that their claws are more of a weapon then some ol’ soft toy. ;)

mom2collegekids: does your chorkie show a preference for just the yellow-colored toys? That’s interesting.

She must be a cute dog with that mixture. My D has a chihuahua/corgie mix who is also very cute. D takes her to gatherings at grad school and little Penny is the belle of the ball. I guess her dog would be a “chorgie.”

Your dogs have toys that last years? I don’t remember the last time one of my dogs’ toys have lasted a year let alone years lol. Although, the kong has lasted this pit bull puppy a year and a half. The last pit bull tore through the kong, the supposedly indestructible ones, in about a month.

Silvermoon, my old rottie used to always play with her bones and stuff on the couch. Whenever it was lost, we would just look in the couch and 9 times out of 10 it was in there. The last pit bull we had would just sit and bark at where she knew the toy was until we went and found it. And if we would walk away (because we couldn’t find it) she would follow us and bark and run back to the place. She was a funny dog lol.

Yes, she has a preference for yellow toys. I guess she can tell the difference.

She is cute. Her hair isn’t as long as a yorky. Everyone always asks what she is.

This is what she looks like… This isn’t my dog, but I know this owner and my dog looks just like this one (of course without the angel wings…LOL).

Our younger MinPin (son to the older) absolutely loves fuzzy, soft toys with squeakers. His mission in life is to rip out the squeaker (even though he finds it entertaining) and destroy the duck, pheasant, rat, Canada goose, etc. until it is an unrecognized smelly fuzzy rag that only he loves He refuses to play with the indestructable plastic / rubber toys.

My dog has many, many toys, most of them little beanie baby type stuffed animals. She likes to shake them, throw them up in the air, etc, but after a while, her favorite thing is to settle in with one and “nurse” on the ears, like with a pacifier. Does anyone else’s dog do that?

Our lab adores stuffed squeaky toys, but they don’t last very long. Does anyone have suggestions for plush squeaky dog toys that last more than a few days? Even a few weeks would be an improvement.

My dog, the Westie, does slime up Lamby kind of like the nursing thing.

She has 2 bins of toys and I noticed at least 1 from puppy-hood. We have however thrown toys away once they start falling apart. She prefers plush toys.

My favorite was a Christmas toy that said Merry Christmas when she squeezed it. I would always respnd back to her…even in July. Lol. My family got tired of it and either hid it or threw it away. :(

We tend to get her toys that talk instead of squeak. Seems like she is talking to us. (Yes we are silly like that). :)

Slithytove, I am wondering the same thing as you…my corgi loves plush animals , but the stuffing all over the place drives me crazy and I am afraid that she will swallow a squeaker , once she gets it out.
I found a flat animal that has squeakers and kevlar under the “fur” …it might be able to stop a bullet, but Stella has managed to rip it up. At least it has lasted a few weeks, as opposed to a few hours ;)
