Happy to “see you,” Ema, and thanks to Romani for reaching out in real life. Dalmatians are sooo cute. I’m assuming you know a fair number of them are deaf. Good luck with the novel. Puppies are good training for babies.
So glad to hear you are doing well ema! Fun to hear about your fur babies
Good to hear from you Ema, another one who misses your voice.
Glad things are working well for you Ema! Agree that it’s great hearing from you. You are missed! Happy New Year!
What fun to hear from you!
I think many long-lime posters just gave up with the ugly new interface.
Hi Ema!, Thanks for stopping by with the update.
Does anyone know what happened to tspshorty? She was also not well. She stopped by here after a treatmentand we had lunch. Nice woman
So good to hear from you, Ema!
Thanks, Romani!
Glad to hear that you’re happy in your life, ema.
I’m so glad ema stopped in with this update. I’ve been missing you a lot; I loved getting the “younger generation’s” voice here in the Parents Cafe.
I, too, miss some of the old-timers, although I’m impressed some have managed to break their addiction. I don’t seem to be able to!
I am an “old timer” too but I mostly lurk these days. I am still here though.
I dropped a line to an “old timer” thinking the person might pop in, but no such luck.
Ditto the greetings to Ema.
Ema, I was also glad to hear from you.
Popping in to say “hi”! I still lurk a bit, though it has been many years since my children went through admissions. TI made many online friends and have been able to meet a few in real life. CC has been a great place to meet, discuss, support, and educate. Many thanks to CC and the moderators for keeping these message boards friendly and entertaining!
What happened to Donna (or was it DonnaL)?
And has @shrinkwrap left CC? I miss her!!!
It was DonnaL.
@Emaheevul07, I’m glad to hear from you also. While having puppies is somewhat similar to having babies, just note that babies don’t sit, lie down or stay for you if you offer them a cookie.
Did shrinkrap leave? I like reading her posts too.
I’m resurrecting a long-dead thread, but I got a wild hair today and decided to check in, make sure my profile was still here. It would seem I’m going to need it in a decade and a half or so…
Funny story about those spandrels and that children’s hospital, it was where my daughter was born two years ago. She’s a delightful little human being named Leah. She is clever and funny and quirky and way too smart for her own good, fiercely independent and amazing.
Husband is just a dear. He finished his PhD in music composition and, because three degrees are not enough, is currently working his way through a part-time MBA via his employer, SHSU.
After three years of running my own structural engineering firm, I gave that up to pursue gigs where I’d have some support staff and a regular income, and I’m currently a forensic engineer with an outfit that analyzes structural failures and does expert witness work. In addition to that, I’m in my third or fourth year of adjunct-professing at the University of Houston - Downtown, a great little commuter school where they’re happy to let me get as involved as I’d like. I’ve helped them with ABET accreditation the past couple of years, which has been… educational.
Life is pretty darned good right now. Figured I’d say hey.
It was good to scroll through this thread and take a walk down memory lane. I’ll see y’all in another decade!
Aibarr! So glad to hear from you! Glad to things are hectic, but in a good way, and I love that your D was born at the hospital that brought so many of us together. Gives me goosebumps!
