The farewell thread

^^Thanks for the update, NJtheatremom! I’m glad her D’s are doing well…I just remember when the younger one (who is the same age as my older son) got into Brandeis and she then decided to go to Adelphi and was nervous about her experience there. I’m so glad she held out for the better degree and was also physically closer to NYC Broadway. You can tell her posters were cheering her on!

I enjoyed Northstarmom’s posts and have always wondered why she suddenly stopped posting.

And then there are the people who are still hanging around the party, years after our kids have graduated… as mine did in 2007.

Me, too, dmd! I think I’ve been here for 12+ years before the expansion of the various forums. My Ds have all graduated, finished law school, grad school, med school! And yet I’m still here. I love the community here and have had the good fortune to meet several CC friends in real life. I hope that someday I can meet many others. I would love to organize a get-together somewhere so that more of us could meet. I think we would all have a blast!

I’ve been around a long time also and both my d’s are long finished with college and one from grad school. I remember latetoschool and sunrise fondly and wonder how their families are doing. So many other names… I wish all a very happy, healthy New Year and one filled with peace.

Northstarmom has gotten involved in local theater and seems to have a ton of new friends locally. She’s doing very well and I think is much happier than when she was posting regularly here. Though, I too miss her presence here.

Ditto on missing many of the folks mentioned above…I also miss payingthreetuitions!

boysx3 had surgery the other day and is about to head from nursing rehab to intensive rehab at a different hospital where she will have lots of physical therapy with the goal of getting her home. Hurray!

Just curious…did a search for ema…and got this! Why?

No results for Emaheavalu.

Twinkle and Sunshine were regulars in the Alley

I’m glad to hear that, mathmom. If you run into her tell her hi from her friends at cc!

@Thumper, is that spelling correct??? I feel like there was a double letter…

It’s emaheevul07, thumper. Last signed on in September.

I found it. Thank you…I forgot about the numbers.

What happened to payingthreetuitions ???

Hi all,

emaheevul07 and I are friends IRL. She has just been super busy but I let her know you guys were thinking about her. It made her happy and she may poke in here at some point.

She also has a SUPER adorable Dalmatian puppy that’s been sucking up most of her time. The FB pictures of her puppy always make me happy.

My ears were burning (Romani told me about this). I couldn’t resist popping in to say hi for more than a few minutes. It’s nice to be missed. I stopped posting here because it had become a source of negativity in my life instead of positive, too much open and unchecked hostility. After the wedding I had an opportunity to re-evaluate my life and decide what should be in it and what shouldn’t. I still read occasionally, it’s still nice to read Cartera’s book recommendations and the various threads about home improvement and things that apply to me. This forum was always an excellent source of adult reading material. I try not to post since the most vocal among the membership would prefer I didn’t. I did get married in May and had a marvelous honeymoon in St. Lucia. I’m a housewife now, which suits me. I’m very busy doing work that is meaningful to me and my family, and much healthier mentally. I’m working on a novel based on a story I’ve been writing since I was a teenager, something I’ve always wanted to do. We’ve been making improvements to our home, finally. I got a Dalmatian puppy and plan to get another sometime in 2015. Puppy and I have puppy social on Sundays, show handling classes on Mondays, and obedience on Wednesdays-- I’ve missed learning new things since I finished school. Someday one of my hobbies will turn into a job, but as I plan to start having babies as soon as dalmatian #2 is a year old, I’m not too concerned about forging a career right now. I’m really looking forward to starting a family with my husband and being a mother. But in the meantime, I have dog shows to train for!

It’s an interesting time in my life, married and preparing to have children and thinking about everything I’ve learned about marital and parental relationships reading this forum over the years. That was always what I liked reading about best.

Nice to see you post, Ema.

Looking forward to reading your novel, Emaheevul07!

Congrats on what sounds like a great beginning to married life Ema - sounds like you are happy!

Yes, Ema, you sound fulfilled.

Remember O aklandmom? One word. She was as nice IRL as she was a poster.
