This is completely each family’s own call. You will be in separate programs from the parents, will stay overnight with a student on campus, and so on. For any parent who is seriously considering sending their student to USC, I think attending the Explore session gives the best info with a very personal twist. For example, we went to a parents dinner and were seated at a table with a full professor from our S’s major who was happy to talk to us about the pros (and even cons) of the SCA, their plans for the future, and even answer our curious questions about how the Trustee program works. My S was very serious about USC, we live in SoCal, and it was a great event.

OTOH, we met many parents of students who seemed less set on USC before they arrived. Some of these had their eyes opened and were much more pro-USC by the end of Explore. To be frank, I met a few parents who were waiting for Harvard or MIT to accept their students. I love to people-watch and found the drama and individual stories fascinating.

However, for you students, just keep yourselves focused on looking around, seeing how well you think the university fits for you, and give a great interview! ;)
