The Five Song Playlist Thread

^ Did you check out the song I recommended as an alternative? Just curious.

^I saw the cold war kids live, they were awesome. AND the concert was free.

^ Holy crap. Free? That’s legit

Alopecia is good, but I think it falls short of Elephant Eyelash. Gemini is one of my favorite songs.

What was the last concert everyone went to?

I saw Kings of Leon a few weeks ago, really good show.

Last concert I went to was ZZ Top, though I didn’t particularly like it. That last concert I went to that I really enjoyed was definitely Muse.

^^ Avalanches Whoooo!

I have Frontier Psychiatrist set as one of my ringtones. Just to be obnoxious.

P.S. Any classic rock or blues fans in here? Specifically Jimi Hendrix and SRV. I could listen to them play solos for hours haha

I’m not going to fight with you, because it’s evident to anybody with a serious breadth of knowledge of 20th/21st century music that there is much more out there besides pitchforkmedia’s flavor of the week. There is some great indie music, don’t get me wrong, but my point was that if you’re going to be the empirical critic of all music, you need to bring more to the table than Cold War Kids and Oasis.

I’m not a big fan of the song, mainly because it’s a little too convoluted and ends up just being awkward. I appreciate their attempt to be original, but the song itself seems to be sacrificed at the expense of trying something new. Still, I certainly don’t "dislike* it. It’s not bad, and is at least interesting. I generally like The White Stripes and The Raconteurs, btw.

I saw the Arcade Fire live three years ago. Good show.

Love Hendrix, but not a big fan of SRV.

Kind of odd coming from the guy who thinks it’s disgusting to believe that Flobots deserves to “touch” speakers…

Anyways, as far as female Latin pop singers are concerned, I definitely prefer Julieta Venegas.

Sorry for making such a poor decision. My apologies.

By the way, the kid who put op. 10 no. 5 made a poor decision in not picking op. 10 no. 3, because it’s B melody is indisputably the most beautiful Chopin has ever written (he even said so himself).

Please, Chopin was the poor decision master of all time. Case in point, he hated Fantasie Impromptu, Op. 66.

So do I.

10char

Hookem, two nights ago I practiced that piece for 3 straight hours. And then I watched that video and a single tear rolled down my cheek.

and yawn is just building his case of making elitist and unlegit choices of piano shredding material by agreeing with the poor decision master over what is clearly one of the most bumpin’ tracks on the block.

hahahahahahaha that is probably the first and last time that I will ever, ever, ever hear a Chopin piece described as “the most bumpin’ track on the block.”

At least you used an apostrophe to keep it grammatically correct ;)

w00t to Star_s for putting hoppipolla in (I can play it on pianoooo)

@ yawn.

Your comment made me go to look at my own iTunes - 70 days!

Argh!

I love the Scrubs episode with the Polyphonic Spree…so happy. I think I’ll need some on the 15th.

If we both get in, I will exchange mix tapes with you to no end :)

Hey guys, posting YouTube links a violation of the Terms of Service. No links please!

This is tough to narrow them down to only 5, but here goes:

Wheatus - “The London Sun”
Deep Purple - “Highway Star”
Bayside - “They’re Not Horses, They’re Unicorns”
MC Lars - “Mr Raven”
Green Day - “Going to Pasalacqua” (Green Day are my favourite band ever so it’s really difficult for me to pick just one song by them but I love this one)

Hopefully there’s at least a couple there that you guys don’t already know :)
