The Goals Fund Scholarship: How Would You Spend $1,000 Toward Your Education & Future Goals?

If I won the $1,000 scholarship, I would use it to pay college tuition. I moved to the United States this year, and I’m graduating in 2026, so college costs have been stressing me out. I am not familiar with student loans, so I’m trying my best to minimize the costs of attending college.

I would spend the $1,000 dollar scholarship to help pay for my schooling. Going into medical school in the future will be expensive, and I want to use the money to help relieve some of the financial stress for myself and my family so I can eventually make a difference in the medical field.

Were I to receive $1000, I would use it to help me pay for college. Ideally, this would make the loans I’d inevitably have from pursuing a doctorate in astrophysics slightly more manageable.

If I were awarded $1,000, I would use it to directly support both my education and my long-term goal of increasing financial literacy in marginalized communities. First, it would help cover the cost of textbooks, tuition, and other materials for university, allowing me to focus more on learning and less on financial stress as I haven’t had luck with scholarships.
In addition, I would use part of the funds to invest in resources to begin developing a youth-focused financial literacy program- a long held interest of mine. This could include attending virtual workshops, purchasing curriculum materials, or even starting a website to share accessible financial education. I believe in giving back, and this scholarship would not only support my growth, but also empower me to help others grow too.

As a first-generation immigrant and low-income student, I have the persistent, looming burden of wanting to pursue my academic endeavors as best as possible while worrying about my two older sisters’ college tuition and resources. Wanting to avoid imposing additional stress on my family, I have been saving stipends gathered from programs I’ve attended and gradually collecting money earned from doing household chores over 2 years to save up for an iPad. With the scholarship, I intend to save half for savings and spend the rest on buying an iPad so I can study with efficiency.

I would use the money into pursuing my education in a accelerated dpt program.

I would use this to help with my tuition costs for next Fall.

I would be able to use that money to cover expenses, like room and board. Having money to adequately cover college will help me focus on excelling in school and achieving my goals, like graduating with a Bachelors in Science in psychology.

As a proud Latina pursuing psychology at UC Davis, I face a hefty bill to continue my education. i would use the $1,000 award to help pay down that amount and ease the financial burden on my family. This support would bring me closer to earning my degree and becoming a mental health professional who uplifts my community.

If I was awarded the Goals Fund Scholarship, I would spend the $1,000 dollars to cover book fees, school materials, and possibly, if applicable, one or two decorations from my dorm to make it feel more like home. All the college’s I’m hoping to attend require me to move away from home and college will be my first experience away from my family. With touches of home, I’ll bring my family with me, promoting my mental health and scholastic success. The books and materials are a necessity expense for school and a must if I am awarded this scholarship. The decor, however, is just a seed of family I hope to plant in my college experience.

I would use the $1,000 Scholarship to pay for college! I want to pursue a career in pharmacy and the schooling can be very expensive. This scholarship would help me with the financial burden that comes with college and pharmacy school. In the future I want to make a positive impact on the world and I think becoming a pharmacist and helping people would help me achieve that goal.

My parents work very hard to provide for my brother and I. I would use this scholarship to help them pay for my college degree!

After one of my parents lost their job this July, we are moving houses, meaning I won’t get much if any financial support. I am attending Drake University majoring in musical theatre and minoring in business management, and $1,000 would be for contributing to tuition, room and board, and other costs associated. This would go towards taking up needed training in a variety of skills related to my major.

I would use this scholarship to help me pay some of my flight instruction to help me further my knowledge of aviation. This would also help me decrease time I need to pay for flight by about 5 hours, which is a very big deal in the long run.

This scholarship would help me very greatly over my education, and my experience in college with classes, and books I would need to pursue my goal. Thank you for your consideration and have a blessed day.

I’m not exactly sure where the next year will take me, but I do know that I would love to study meteorology/atmospheric science at a large university. I would use $1,000 to help pay for my housing, books, and to pay off student loans in the future.

I would use the money to pay my parents back for assisiting me in my college tuition.

I would use this scholarship to help pay for my college education. I am a first generation college student and I will be paying for college myself without help from my family. I plan to go to UNCW for a degree in Elementary Education so I can become a teacher. I’ve always loved to learn and I want to share that love with the next generations.

I would use these 1,000 dollars to help pay off the loans I’m using to pay for my first year of college. This would greatly help as I look for a job and focus on my studies to become a psychiatrist.
