If I were given $1,000 to use toward my education and future goals, I would make sure every dollar counts. As a 17-year-old dual credit student going into my senior year, I’m working hard to get ahead by taking college-level classes while still in high school. I’m also being raised by a single mom, so I understand the value of money and the importance of planning for my future.

I would use part of the money to help cover the cost of textbooks, college application fees, and other school-related expenses that can add up quickly. I’d also invest in tools or resources that support my academic goals, like a reliable laptop or online learning programs. The rest I would save to help with college costs, such as tuition or transportation.

My schools tuition for the next academic year was raised by $5,000.
