Did anyone else watch the first episode on CBS last night? I have been adamant that I don’t need CBS All Access as I’ve seen previews and seen Christina Baranski promoting this show, but I may have to cave in once all the episodes have been posted to see the entire season. I think there are going to be 10 or so episodes. If they are all as good as last night, I could definitely binge this one in just a few days in May when I’m finished with the spring semester. I think I could try the free week and fit them all in that time period easily.
The story and the acting were superb, IMO. I have loved This Is Us as my favorite new show this year, but some of the storylines there are stronger than the others and I thought it started slow. No slow or weak spots for The Good Wife’s first episode out of the gate, IMO.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode and am disappointed it won’t be shown on the regular network.IMO that was like a “bait and switch”/hour-long ad. Perhaps I will do as you plan, @2VU0609.
I agree that the clothes were great, especially the retirement party dress.
I don’t want to put too much detail out there and spoil for others, but I found it interesting that Diane asked Luca about Alicia. If this show makes it to another season, I would love to see a guest appearance by Julianna Marguiles down the road. I also loved the picture of Diane with Will during the retirement party slide show.
I wonder if after the ten episode season ends it might be available on Netflix or Amazon. I’m usually willing to pay for my entertainment but can’t bring myself to pay $9.99 a month ($5.99 with commercials!) to watch one show.
I didn’t realize when I tuned in that it was only going to be available on CBS All Access. I can’t see paying 6 bucks a month for it, though. If I can do what @2VU0609 suggested and binge watch all of them during a free trial week, I’ll do that. I thought the episode was really good. Love Rose Leslie!
MOWC, CBS was like a drug dealer giving away a free sample to lure us into addiction I think I can binge it all later this year when I can get a free week or I’m even willing to pay $5.99 for a month to see it and then cancel. I can catch all of the other CBS programming on my DVR without paying any additional cost and the two other “original” shows on their website have no appeal for me.
Ay yi yi. We already have Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus. No way am I going to pay for another streaming service for just one show, no matter how enticing the one show is. Hopefully after the season is done it’ll show up on Hulu or whatnot…
I could be be wrong, but I got the sense that they were only putting up two episodes during the free week and that the free week will end before the other gets put up.
But, yeah, I really liked it. I’ve loved Christine Baranski since the old Cybill sitcom. She was the best part of that show.
I’m dying to see it (is the first episode available online for free?) but I am so spoiled these days by binge-watching that I would not want to have to wait a week between episodes. It was bad enough when I binge-watched the Crown, then realized that I would have to wait for the second season. And I don’t want to pay - I have Netflix and Amazon Prime and don’t want to pay for any more services.
Are you kidding me? I just thought the CBS access stuff was so you could watch it early not because that was the only source for future episodes. I would’ve switched channels.
Disappointed. Good show but not adding a service for one show. Already getting ready to cancel part of what I’ve got.
Now I’m mad at CBS.
