Any one watching?
Very touching and well done opening by Alicia Keys about Kobe. She is doing a good job of setting the tone for the night.
But it is nearly 8:30 and we haven’t had an award yet!

What’s up with the Gucci pajamas? ?
Oh, the red carpet was a bit WILD with costuming!
Camilla Cabello’s tribute to her dad made me tear up. Very touching song.
@BunsenBurner i had tears in my eyes too and then again listening to Demi Lovato.
Good grief. Bad Guy is the song of the year? That is an instant “skip” in Mr’s Tesla Owners Favs channel. ? Just like any Ariana Grande’s song.
I don’t know many of the nominated songs or artists. I guess I’m officially square.
Album of the year? What a bust. Other than the awardees, the show was OK.
ETA: Duh!!! ?
I was surprised to see Billie Ellish win 4 Grammys. But she had her first major hit at 16 y/0 and now 4 Grammys at 18/0. Recording in her brothers bedroom who produced the album. She writes all the lyrics etc… She’s a talented kid whether you like her music or not.
I love Billie’s music. I thought the song she performed at the show really showed off her musical abilities. That song and Ocean Eyes which she wrote when she was 14 are both beautiful songs. I also noticed that CBS used her “Strange Addiction” for their ad for upcoming shows.
@Knowsstuff when I first heard Billie’s songs on the radio, I was like oh, yuck. But then when I learned more about her and her brother, I realized the talent and definitely can appreciate it. I actually like her new song, especially the lyrics.
I think Billie deserves those awards. Extremely talented young lady.
I found Demi Lovato’s performance very moving and will admit that I don’t really get Billie Eilish or her music. But I did not realize she was that young so can appreciate what an achievement this is for her.
I had to give up on the show shortly after 10pm for sleep. Seems like they had barely got started!
Alicia Keys completely ruined the Kobe tribute. That is an iconic Boyz II Men song that can only be done by Boyz II Men.
^^^But Boyz II Men were there singing???
I thought it was a pretty mixed show- some of it fairly boring with an occasional great moment now and again.
I thought Lil Nas, Lizzo and Billie E had the best performances. I also enjoyed Tyler the Creator and his acceptance speech.
I thought the dedication to Nipsey was too many people.
As much as I wanted to love the reunion of Aerosmith and Run DMC, I did not.
Yes, but with a periodic, annoying squeal ruining it. LOL
Same. Steven Tyler did not sound good, and Joe Perry looked annoyed/bored the whole time. I thought Run DMC sounded good, but the whole mash up was a mess.
