How special to have a beautiful heirloom gown!
The gown is beautiful.
My GS is becoming very aware of my coaching career. When I came in the door tonight, he was on phone with DW and said “Papa game?”. Sometimes he says “Papa ball” too. Its kind of fun. I look forward to next fall when he can start playing
I joined the grandparent club today.
My D had her son a couple of hours ago, a day after her due date. All went well, both are healthy. We will go to Denver to see them in a couple of weeks.
Congratulations, bajamm, to you and your family! So happy your D and precious baby boy are healthy! ![]()
Joining the grandparent club is very special!
Congrats to the family!
Congratulations! It’s a great club to be in! ![]()
Congratulations on your newest family member! Enjoy your visit.
Congratulations to you and your family!
So last night was the first time I watched both grands (GD age 3 years and GS age 3 months). All went well! D and SIL left for dinner out (they celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary) after putting GD down to sleep. She has been getting up lately, but she had a busy week at daycare/preschool including a field trip to the orchard yesterday so she was wiped out. Baby went down right before 10 and slept until 6!
I spent the night and would have slept in but the dog insisted on sleeping with me and woke me up early to go out. Can’t win 'em all…
Had a great day with Grands yesterday. Went to both of their soccer games, or “game” in the case of the four year old which was just basically running around kicking balls wildly, knocking over cones, and the occasional jumping jacks break.
In the evening we took family out to dinner for D’s birthday. Had a spectacular time. The kids are excellent restaurant goers even though they don’t go out very much. Very polite, order their own food, and mostly colored placemats and chatted with everyone.
D introduced us to a new tradition they have started over dinner–”Rose, thorn, bud.” Rose is something good that happened today, thorn is something not so good, bud is something you’re looking forward to. Really fun!
Welcome to the club!
Anyone have any ideas for a trash can that can double as a disposable diaper trash can? D will be visiting for a few weeks and I think I have too small trash cans. I thought of the can that’s made for diapers but I wanted to be able to have other uses.
Also I feel really lucky to have found these gates on amazon. Very well made. Swing both ways, tons of adaptations, I used with pressure only- I have these in two places.
Cumbor 29.7-48" Baby Gate for Stairs, Mom’s Choice Awards Winner-Dog Gate for Doorways, Auto Close Safety Pet Gate for Dogs Indoor, Easy Install Pressure Mounted Child Gate with Walk Thru Door, Black
If you have a large kitchen lidded trash can, I would either bag the dirty diapers with plastic bags and then when convenient, take them to the kitchen trash can.
DD1 first used a diaper genie but found it was not doing its job from attracting bugs. Better to have the dirty diapers go out with the tall trash can trash several times a week (and then go out to the large outside lidded trash bin). DD1 has had continual diapers for last 7 years (5 children age 7 years down to 6-month-old).
At our house pee diapers go in the kitchen trash and poop diapers go straight out to the outside trash cans.
Same here! ![]()
We also do the same when the kids visit. The only difference is, I buy cheap food storage 1 gallon bags for the poop diapers. Those get tied and thrown in a trash bag in the garage, then the big bag goes into my trash can when the kids leave.
Youngest GS will be here Thanksgiving and is mostly potty trained, so should be the last visit of diapers/pull-ups!
We plastic bag the stinky diapers before they go into the trash - and agree about trips to large trash can.
Today is youngest GD’s 4th BD. Tues. her sister will be 7. And Thurs. is their Mom’s BD. LOL. I told my son “back when” that he will need a “November” savings account.
So, anyway, their mutual party is tomorrow. Will be fun. And DIL’s very delightful mom is in from MN. It’s always great to see her.
