Last Year:
16 reported being accepted by 05-26-2009, post #1053. Everyone who was accepted from the thread heard on the 19th, 20th, and 21st which was a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This was probably the first wave.

Next wave seemed to happen on the 12th of June with about 6-10 more students from the thread accepted from the 14th to the 29th of June.

In last year’s thread the Z-list acceptances were scattered and seemingly random (although probably based on hooks which are impossible to confirm).

Qizixite, I agree with you about the process being almost over. I would guess the vast majority of us can expect a rejection email on Monday or possibly Tuesday.

Yesterday’s mini-wave seems to have been mostly z-list. We’re hanging by a thread here, but maybe they haven’t quite closed out the 2014 admits.

I’m into the class of 2014! I got the call yesterday in LGA airport at around 6:30pm and when i hung up the phone the guy next to me asked if i was okay. when i told him the whole gate started clapping! if that’s not something out of a movie i dont know what is haha

i wish you all the best of luck, its been great talking with you guys and i hope to see some of you this fall :D

it seems most/all of you are on the east coast, which gives me a little hope because i’m in california. hopefully it’s going geographically, but i won’t get my hopes up. anyway, today is prom AND my 18th birthday, so good news would be fantastic!

So if I’m keeping track correctly: Yesterday, on 6/4/10, two people were admitted to 2014 (Nyprepster and Ryryviolin) and there people were z-listed to 2015 (Dx1992, Overwhelmedma and Rwe123).

It seems like the adcom should need more than just two from the waitlist in this round. Base on a yield of 80-90% for the first round from the waitlist, I was expecting somewhere around 6 to 15 in the second round. Am I missing something? Could there be that many lurkers.

This Year:
First wave reported on May 21st between 4 and 9 PM. Acceptances AND rejections were sent out.

Second wave reported on Friday June 4th. Only acceptances were released.

We expected the result to come out on 7th or 8th. However, accepted applicants were informed yesterday. Monday and Tuesday probably will be just rejections. hope,big hope.

So, i am matriculating to Georgia Tech. But my problem with the “rejection emails monday and tuesday” is that it would have been so easy for them to just send out those mass emails yesterday and shut down the uncertainty and false hope. If the theory does come to fruition, it would just be a d-bag move by harvard. This is all my humble opinion.

I am from Chicago.

I got the call yesterday, but I didn’t find out until today–so rather than being excited, my prom date was probably irked with me (I lost the prom tickets, the corsage I bought her fell apart, and when we were taking pictures outside someone [I think me] stepped on this doggie toy and it squirted fetid water on her dress. and stained).

I enrolled at University of Southern California, to do a double degree in biochemistry and violin performance as a student of the violinist Midori. If I hadn’t gone there, I would have gone to New England Conservatory, University of Chicago, Juilliard, or Columbia.

I got admitted for 2014.
