Just because you don’t have perfect grades in high school doesn’t mean you can’t get into a good college. College is a crapshoot. I had my fair share of Cs in high school and took a mix of H/AP courses and A course. Do well on your standardized testing and it’ll help even if your GPA isn’t great.
DS has a 3.35 GPA, 32 ACT (E 29, M 33, R 31, S 35)
Got into:
Drexel Engineering
Penn State Engineering
SUNY Buffalo Engineering
Colorado-Boulder Physics
@riss123 nice results - so where are you going given all the excellent choices?
I have a 3.46 UW/4.03 W GPA, and got into Kenyon College today!
A bit of an update from my last post here:
Ohio State (honors and Maximus scholarship)
@my2caligirls Currently my top choice in Indiana Kelley, Im going to wait for a few deferrals and Texas before making a decision. But I was lucky to have received honors college, and presidential scholarship from IU too. So it seems like a great choice right now!
@riss123 IU Kelley is a great choice if that is ultimately what you decide - you have some excellent options - well done!
Aspiringirl, my son is similar to you, straight A’s but a bad Sophomore year. Your test scores are going to probably be the biggest determinant. He’s not competitive enough for many schools - and just got his first denial from what I thought was a pretty safe Cal State. From what I see in this thread, people may not have 4 point something GPA’s, but they have good test scores. My son’s score affected him, I believe.
