The Indian Thread #21

Articles, photos?? Everyone is an overachiever here
North, send me some of your photos, will you?? :p

Paayas guilty as charged.
In the sense that yes I gushed about your work to Rew.

Aaaand topic 6 -where’s Waldo. It is actually an illustrated childrens book, in which there are pages filled with dozens of people in crowded scenes. And you have to find this guy in a white and red striped tee called Waldo (in USA) and wally (in UK) honestly it was one of ny favourite books, though there wasn’t much of ‘reading’ in it.

So basically the prompt, where’s wally is addressing the book :D

and mrinal sending you a PM :)

Rew- the nemesis topic is SO INTERESTING to play with. Mainly coz they added the words real or imaginary in the brackets
Inventing your own enemy. There are so many philosophical and yet quirky things you can play with the prompt and I will definitely be attempting some of the prompts for the sheer creative challenge :D

Lol, thanks for sharing it. I have never read that book or even seen it for that matter, will wiki it up.
P.S: I hope you guys are not falsely praising me.

No paayas your articulation is superb :)

xNorth22 and Ppaaya I also want to see you articles and photos :P

Crystal31: Pm’ed you the URL.

Wow guys, You too are just amazing and so talented! Awesome stuff!

I must say we Indians have soo much of awesome talent ! :D

Moving away from all the talented stuff, When are you all taking the standardized tests??

October, November.

i will be taking it next year :)

Crystal: Take it this year, while you have time. I did, and I dont regret it. :)

@Mrinal: Isnt it early for me? Also did you take any classes for SAT? Alot of my friends are telling me that I should start taking classes for SAT… I am not too convinced by them but they have got in two minds if its worth taking classes or not… What do you suggest?

I gave them in class 11th. ACT in September and SAT II in January this year.
I didn’t take any classes for SAT/ACT. But, it depends on you.

Crystal take it this novemeber/december. As mrinal said you really won’t regret it later. It give you time for preparation, as its not your 12th, and also lets U have a few tries at the sats left :)

Aand I advise against any Kaplan classes.

ah okay guys, thanks for the advise… I am not very positive for SAT classes but lets see  I will also start working out on how and when to give SAT and maybe take it in Nov.
@xNorth i will definately not take classes from Kaplan, I have heard they are not good…

If you can study on your own and stick to a schedule. Classes are unnecessary. I didn’t take any, and I studied for 2 weeks only and got an 1820.

However, if you think they will keep you on track, then it’ll be better to take them.

@anvesh I am pretty positive i can do it on my own but I will still be checking out the institutios which provide SAT classes and see what they have to offer and most important factor will be the Fee part…

In that case, make yourself a study schedule and follow it.

For example, I wrote a test a day from the blue book (10 tests in total) and then did drills from Barron’s Guides the other days.

Yeah , I plan to do things that way but lets see how things work out… I am very bad at following time tables :P
