The Indian Thread #21

Paayas. Please. We ain’t false praising you. You deserve all the praise :)

North is an amazing photographer. Seriously. And she writes great as well.

Blah. Seems like every Indians got talent! I am more or less a average random guys aiming at the ivys (need blinds).

Waldo, will read the book!
Waldy (UK), oh, so its that where the name voldy aka voldemort came up?!
LOL.

Crystal, take ALL the standardized test this year itself.
You don’t want to repent later like I do now. Managing 12ths study with SAT prep is of no use for you’ll do just fair in both!
Taking SAT2s in October and ACT in the same month. Taking SAT1 in November as well.

Guys, any idea when when the other supplements are releasing? Or the essays?
Is it the first time when UChic launched their essays prompt this early? Or does this happens every year?

Rew2402: Thank you!
I don’t think any other University has released theirs, but others have almost the same thing every year.

Rew, they barely change:

Brown
Columbia[/url”>http://www.studentaffairs.columbia.edu/admissions/applications/common_app_supplement.pdf]Columbia

I’m not doing any more Google searches.

I’ve been missing out on so much! :frowning: Ppaayas and North, being so awesome as everyone says you are, why don’t you guys send me the links too? You’re missing out on some serious praise from me! :stuck_out_tongue: jk, jk

Soo guys! what is everyone up to? I really really need to start on those essays.
Ppaayas, I think I remember reading that you’re already done with all your essays?

Look it’s the 17ers! Ewww. :p

idream17: I am done with rough drafts of the CommonApp and Yale essay. Will PM in a bit.

 Done the essay already Ppaayas?? Man, I bow down to you. :stuck_out_tongue: You are waaaaay ahead of time.

Lol, I just wanted to finish the draft when I was still in a particular state of mind and not let my stand weaken.

If you create a logon on commonapp, you may still be able to access some of the supplements. As Tizil mentioned, many of them don’t change much from year to year. Brown did a major change for 2012 compared to previous years and lengthened the supplement quite a bit.

@Rew thanks for the advice, I have to replan everything now so lets see how things work out for me…
Thank you all for the precious advice really means alot! :)

Seems like I’m the only one who hasn’t got a head start on them essays. And me thought it was a very great task that i organised the supplements and FA info.
feels incompetent

Oh chemistry test tomorrow. Anyone good with chemical equilibrium?

I. hate. Chemistry.
North! Go studyyy.
Move your lazy arse from this site, will ya?
Also,
You ain’t the only one. I am in the same state. I am yet to start the essays! Although, I pretty mch know what am gonna write about- if that helps.

Paayas- Yale is my first choice as well. How is the Pton essay coming along?

LOL. TheE. I am sure 15ers reacted to you in the same way and so will we for the 18ers :D

Tizil, thank you for the google and stuff, but I already knew about supplements being same. I just wondered if any other Uni does like what UChic did! :P

So, iDream, how’s your stuff coming along. You Are done with your standardized test right? Did you write anything yet for the essays?

I guess mrinal is the smartest of us all. He was already done with his standardized tests in jan and commonapp essay in may.
I have done anythin yet and I feel miserable about it! (>.<)

@Rew2402: Yale is my first choice too but I am applying early to Princeton. I ahven’t really started working on that part yet. And yes, I am also finishing all this stuff early because I have standardized tests to take.

I should be done with all the testing if I have not messed up my SAT II chem. Which I definitely have :stuck_out_tongue: So, probably that in October. And if I don’t get a good ACT score, I’ll retake it in September.

Oh and why not early to Yale, Ppaayas? If it’s your first choice?

idream17: Because Princeton has a more extensive admission process for Home schooled applicants and I like it too, maybe just a little less than Yale

Guys , I has this random question in mind coming to me after I read one of the posts on CC… How do you qualify for Fee-waivers? Like the 74$ fee which you have to give to almost all colleges when you apply for just submitting your application. Can anyone guide me how to get rid of that?

Sent from Ui20 using CC

Haha, interesting topic those, and I love the 3rd topic. I’m a loquacious guy, but that all the more makes silence for me a special form of speech, which conveys much more than words can. I’ve got plethora of situations to right about, just need to take my time out and concentrate. 4th is another one that entails creativity and imagination, and seems like one of those topics which when you write about you get lost in a dream like state. Especially for someone who’s experiencing a lot of nostalgia lately.

Dull day. Crystal31: I think your counselor mails a request to the college. But no fee waivers for internationals at Yale, don’t know about the rest.

oh okay, thanks for answering Ppaayas!
I soo agree with that its a dull day here at CC today. :(

I read one pays approx $1200 for just 10-12 college apps?! :open_mouth:
Damn. Isn’t it too expensive just to go through the application process? Leave aside the actual price one has to pay in the form of tuition later? :scream:
