Unfortunately I haven’t ever studied Economics in my lifetime! :O

i think i know you, @thekd95.
your initials are - S S, right? from Delhi? (International School, by name?)

is HKU as hard to get in as NTU/NUS?
i am inclined towards the humanities course at HKU. but like, what is the cut off for an indian student? is it same as NUS- ~96% in ISC

^ I’ve heard HKU is easier to get into!! A 90+ in 10th is good enough and they do look at ECs!! :D

Also, most universities in Hong Kong are currently on a drive to get more International students to compete with US universities!! :)

For NUS though, its ~97% for engineering and a bit lower for business/economics/arts in that order…

NTU is ~2% lower than NUS in the cutoffs!!

^ Though this is for non olympiad applicants!!

@rew2402 - Nope, sorry. But I know who you’re talking about :P

Then you’re surely K.D.
Regardless, congratulations (and, in case you are K.D., good luck at Harvard)

^ mysterious stuff o_O

Hey, I applied Stanford without requesting any aid. Today I received an email reconfirming my financial aid choice.
Has anyone here /friends/past applicant got such an email ?

long time back;;;;;@anand

hey everyone
i was part of the locked indian thread #20 and i totally forgot that another one was out there, so hello to all of yall :D

sorry to ask an unrelated question but how much did you guys spend for only applying to the universities(considering each univ charges $60-$80 fees)?

close to 500$

how many universities you applied to?

i applied to 15ish
less than $500.
i used application and CSS profile fee waivers. ISFAA forms for the rest.
just had to pay for sending test scores.

I applied to 7

Ok…Thanks for the replies…just wanted to know :)

Whatsup people !

I didn’t use fee waviers, and I spent about 1.5-2K dollars. I know that’s a lot, but I applied to 20 universities.
You know you guys have to count the money you spent for writing the tests write? I wrote Subject SATs Thrice, Main SAT once, and ACT once, each one roughly is 90 dollars(a bit more), so thats like 500 dollars right there.

That’s life if you are going abroad…

I spent ~ Rs. 40000 on everything together, but why are we discussing this again?? :O

No waivers, 8 univ in USA + SAT + CSS + 4 Univ in Asia + the Indian ones!!
