<p>well the rank is for all four cumulative years. Weighted means that the rank is based on factors like courseload (eg. if there are two people one with A in AP exams and a person with A in regular course,then the person with A in AP will have a better rank than the other person in regular course…this is called putting a weight).
Unweighted Rank means the rank is just based on grades it doesn’t matter whether u are AP or not.
For Indians though none of this matters as usually ranks are not given and even if ranks are given then too we have same course so our ranks are always unweighted.</p>
<p>Not really… there are science stream students and commerce or arts stream students etc… Then there are science guys who study CS, and those who study economics or biology etc… courses can be very different and subsequently the course load.</p>

<p>shabin thats a big list!!..so its better u completely go through the berkeley site…it will give you more accurate answers…anyways its good that u want to scrutinize every university but i can tell u for sure that UC Berk is one of the BEST univ in the US (specially for engineering)…and i dun think anyone will even bother look at other aspects if one gets through!!</p>
