well the guy:girl ratio may be low in engg, but who said that u’ve gotta pick a girl from engg…also livin in atlanta…plenty of chicks…and U of Georgia prolly has a lot of chicks too…

hehe taj u do have some experience in this don’t you!!..this will be more than helpful!! ;)

taj n prachi i just checked up GaTechs site to know more about co-ops…it said that ppl enrolling in co-ops have to work for entire semester at a go and several semesters during their whole college period…therefore they graduate in 5 year instead of four…are there any exceptions in this?? i mean you enroll in co-ops but still graduate in 4 years…

you didnt get the jist maybe… coop program will by default always take you more time and typically 4.5 to 5 yrs in the degree completion but you would also have done about 1.5 years of equivalent work experiance as both full time and part time employee at big firms , companies. It is a fun experiance and also the course load isnt all what it seems to be…

You can although make the whole thing little faster by studying overboard and earning advanced credits, yet 5 yrs is a gud amount of time to be as it also includes gud deal of work experiance. Coop program allow you to take the required work exxperiance and to relax you of the acds take semester break from the university which aint any problem. You arent missing out on anything, actually gaining on loads of experiance and fun… and ofcourse needless you will be in the University if the time arises for the fun of it…

SM

Its a bit different at Cornell…There one has to complete the 1 yr academic course, one month earlier than normal, and so they can work for that 1 month in a company(co-op)…the pay scale is around 2500-3000$

ok what if i would wanna do a post graduate degree after my graduation?? is co-op still a good idea??

Always a good idea!

hi guys… been a lil busy lately… will b for a couple of more days … nway i still havent received confirmation of receipt of app from three colls… shud get it soon… nway. . will cum online wenever i can…

smartmind at which email id do u contact Purdue??

SM

hehe dexter, of course i have experience…its the tajmeister rite here dawg!!.. anyways about the co-ops thing…i think u can still graduate in 4 years with a year of work experience if u work harder and complete certain credits during ur summer break or something…it is possible but requires more work…

btw, does anyone happen to know when Purdue’s application deadline is?

last year it a few months after jan…dunno this year.

aite thanks CTC2…

Purdue is rolling…i think its deadline for fall 2006 is Feb 1…obviously we shouldn’t wait till then!!

yeah dexter u gotta do summer school n all if u wanna gradutae a lil faster… but even then 5 yrs aint bad… dont worry u wont be too old by the time u graduate to go to grad school…
n imagine all the work experience on ur resume!

hey I have got work experience after my 12th garde since Ive taken a gap …

anybody whose applied to gatech online… where do i put this info in???

GaTech seems to be short sighted i must say!! Probably they don’t care about it that much…I suggest you to fill up the work experience in the given “During School” column and then write in the “Special Circumstances” box that you dropped a year in which you did all the work mentioned…it should work i think…

aite… thanks…
