<p>i feel that the average salary indicators are quite lame and inaccurate…i mean and avg salary has soooooo many different jobs n fields included and its kinda not specific at all…</p>

<p>Btw just to clarify abduke, the ambani relative he was talking about is isheta… she was in my batch… and yeah rumour had it that they donated a library or something right before she applied… and the stanford president was down during the admission time, and over at their place for dinner… dont know how much is true, but she didnt have the stats to get in for sure… People with better stats then her got rejected from the same batch at the same school…</p>
<p>About the ambanis in general, i dont think mukesh or anil are brilliant at what theyre doing… when you start off with the amount they did, its pretty much impossible to f u c k it up… but they almost did in the middle… a press investigation into the company could have caused a major share crash…</p>
<p>For some reason, most people at the ambani school seem to hate the ambanis… nita’s shi tty administration drove most of the teachers away, before they had finished their contracts… for some strange reason the students didnt seem to like the best teachers being driven away too much… and the stuff she prints in the paper about how shes there “in the morning to welcome the children into school” etc… pretty much shi t… yeah theres resentment…</p>

<p>If i might say something here… I feel that i vouched for the US universities because it is crystal clear there that they are being donated…and another fact i’d like to remind you that atleast its not one individual (unlike our indian colleges) who gets to keep that money…this money is circulated in the college funding and it is used to fund poor kids from third world countries like me…and since they are already accepting like 30 odd students who can pay from India…It wont make a difference if they take like 5 or 6 who can pay and are reasonably good or even aren’t.as in no way will that increase or decrease the number of finaid needy applicant that are to be taken…actually a lot of funding by donations might just increase the no. of finaid wanting candidates…and as far as the seats of “qualified” students who can pay goes, well it really doesn’t matter if 7-8 dont get in because usually that number is also not comprised of geniuses…and they are like almost similar to the students who are getting in by giving funds…</p>
<p>You wanna hear another sad story? Again, experience based on my school.</p>
<p>My parents know one of the head officials at Orange. Now apparently, Orange was planning a jointure venture (or something of the sort) with Reliance Infocomm headed by Anil (if I’m not mistaken). Now their son gave the entrance tests to our school ( he’s 2 years younger than me)) and after the 2 entrance tests, the IB coordinator, MR. Jaffar told him that he had done REALLY WELL in those tests. And then, somehow he got waitlisted! That too, almost at the end of the list.
2 points to be noted:
- the school doesnt release the results of the of the tests. So u have no idea how u did - So that gives them the liberty of accepting anyone they want. Makes you wonder about whether this entrance exam’s just an excuse.
- You need 65%+ in your ICSE board exams to enroll, provided you passed the entrance exams. Their entrance exams were decent, if not hard as I recall. I think even 75%+ would be asking too much. That also gives them the liberty to admit any rich dumbass they wanna.</p>
<p>Why did that Orange kid get waitlisted? Simple - Mukesh runs our school.</p>
