congrats taj!

thanks guys…

UIUC is definately a much better engineering school. however, U of Wash’s bioengg program is ranked 5th and they do have an excellent medical school. Futhermore, Paul Allen is planning on turning Seattle into a Biotech/Biomed heavyweight. Also, Seattle is a much better city than Urbana or Champaign… UIUC’s bioengg program is rather young and they accept like only 20 undergrads each year. I got offered an alt prgm at UIUC…so I’d pick U of Wash over UIUC…but GaTech remains my top choice…

See ppl, I was right
Becuz he told me about this thing 2 months back :p

BIRD FLU HITS MAHARASHTRA :frowning: :frowning: :(:frowning: :frowning: :(:frowning: :frowning: :(:frowning: :frowning: :(

This is sooo depressing! Last week my doctor told me not to eat chocolate, cheese, icecream, coffee and tea coz of my migraine. AND NOW THIS!!! IS THERE ANYTHING LEFT TO EAT IN THIS WORLD?!?!??!
I’m Insane AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAA!

actually the doctors have said that cooking kills the bacteria…so there is no risk of getting infected by eating poultry…the risk of being infected is only if u are externally infected…like if u directly go to the poultry or get something like very infected from the poultry and touch it and dont wash your hand…
You can still have all the tandoori nights…dont worry :D

and if it makes u feel better…90% of the deaths due to bird flu was of the people who were closely related to the sites of infection.

hehe i just recieved a freak email from Umich saying “We welcome your application for admission and are happy to inform you regarding the application process.” …whatever that means!!..in the end they said that i need to send a short write-up on the things i did after high school and things i will be planning to do before joining college…i was like OMG!!! …i would have to fax them a blank page!!! :p

That’s true. But the saddest part is that u cant be sure it’s cooked properly if ordered from outside. Which means I cant eat (non-veg) Subway sandwiches :frowning:
I live on Subway.

Place ur Subway sandwiches in ur Microwave oven, and warm it above 70 degrees for 2-3 min…that will do I guess…or ask ur Dad ;)

well .,… or mayb switch on to a Veggie mean this day… ahahaha

I am a veggie as of now … so no wories for me

SM

“But the saddest part is that u cant be sure it’s cooked properly if ordered from outside.”
True. Thats the f’in reason my parents have put a ban on eating outside…x-(

this is a friggin’ disaster! why did it happen just when KFC opened afta such a long time!!!

oh yeah…Delhi has another reason to be disappointed…and my bro was teasin me all this time abt KFC opening near his house…lemme just talk to him tonigh…

yeah…but wats wrong with KFC??..don’t they see india as a good market or what??

im just lookin at the KFC flier with the crispy chicken on it!!
:(

wat do u mean dexter??

i mean hardly any new braches opened after they came in india 6-7 years ago and the solitary branch of KFC in defence colony disappeared years back!!

dude, i live in Indonesia where there have been a lot more bird flu cases than India…but I still eat chicken and I’m fine. Just cook it above 80 degrees Cel or something like that and u’ll be fine…

I dont really like KFC. Also, You should cook the chicken at 70°C minimum. With the top hotels, it should be fine. But like I said before, u cant be sure small outlets like Subway do so. I’m thinking of just getting a veggie sub and asking my mom to cook the chicken. I guess that’s a much better solution.

Think about this:
**
“It’s an amazing thing to think that ours is the first generation in history that really can end extreme poverty, the kind that means a child dies for lack of food in its belly. That should be seen as the most incredible, historic opportunity but instead it’s become a millstone around our necks. We let our own pathetic excuses about how it’s ‘difficult’ justify our own inaction. Be honest. We have the science, the technology, and the wealth. What we don’t have is the will, and that’s not a reason that history will accept.” --Bono in an interview to the World Association of Newspapers for World Press Freedom Day on May 3, 2004.
