The Indian Thread (TiT) # 14

Oh… ashishagr (a CC member) was one of the RSI 2005 students from India

I accept my mistake. I should have been more careful in my choice of words because I seem to imply that Prannay was the most deserving candidate.

I’ve seen the profiles and know that there are some absolutely awesome people out there who got rejected but then nobody knows what MIT is really looking for…

Once again, its great to be part of this forum and I hope to post regularly!

Congrats Dexter!
Rishabh, I searched his name on Google and found some results through which I concluded that he went to Pakistan for some Peace Camp. :)

congrats dexter

so dexter, what university will you end up going to?

thanx all…@OG i am still waiting for 4 universities and according to whatever acceptances i will be having at the end of this month i’ll select my final univ…you n I have applied to almost the same set univs so our condition is quite similar i guess!! ;)

ok
So far my top choice is GeorgiaTech… I’ve got into Michigan (recd letter yesteday!!) but have ruled it out based on advice from my counselor.

Unless I get into Stanford or Carnegie Mellon… im going to GeorgiaTech!!

hey congrats on that!!..you mind sharing the advice your school counsellor gave you??

Sure, she’s a pretty good one. What she basically said was that Michigan is a very big school compared to GeorgiaTech and if you don’t get a good rank at Michigan it can hurt you alot. She also said GeorgiaTech is more selective than Michigan, and GeorgiaTech’s rank is improving every year… GeogiaTech also doesn’t have grade inflation and is tougher, hence graduate schools like gatech degrees better

She says that by the time you graduate, GeorgiaTech may well be ranked higher than Michigan… To post-graduate schools and employers… they’d be more interested in the reputation when you apply for a job rather than when you applied to the university

…and my 1000th post is dedicated to TiT # 14! I’m a senior member now!
