Absolutely. Being away from India ruins your taste buds… all the tasteless, nonspicy food… Today I ordered a pizza with extra spices and chillies so that it comes on par with Indian pizzas… guess what, I couldn’t eat it. Half of it is still in my bag right now. :-</p>

Carnegie Mellon( when my father asked the offic on phone abt my interview – they said that application was shaping well and there was no need for interview — i;m taking this as a +++ sign for admission – I applied in Computers! )</p>

Gatech – technical — the whole extra eval thing!!</p>
<p>It must be extremely rare that someone, esp international, gets accepted at Caltech and rejected at MIT when it tougher at Caltech! But I think because I am much more ‘academic’ oriented , Caltech – which is an academically super tough place accepted me while MIT – which looks also at overall( but not as much ‘overall’ as say HArvard!) , rejected me!</p>
<p>Both these decisions were kept secret from me for some time so I couldnt tell you earlier — some personal reason!! </p>
<p>Well — IIT is a fun now when Caltech is in the pocket! Probably I’ll perform better! I sent in my thoughts problem on 'Theory of Relativity" I thought of to Caltech! I also got National Olympiads- MAth and Chem – will post details after 9th April – IIT-JEE! MIT would have been good but Caltech is more to my taste!</p>
<p>Regarding MIT decisions – surprising Ashish agrawal — RSI — didnt get in! Can somebody explain the waitlist system to me — is it say that if someone doesnt come, he may get a chance! Asilata was always top chance! I know both of them from KVPY! I dont know abt others! But I can say this ---- since they werenot in KVPY, RSI , Olympiads etc. — academics was not their hook — which also goes to say that MIT is not all academics! Which means , according to me, MIT looks more for overall excellence and not just super-excellent academics and good ECs!! Thats a great thing to know! </p>
<p>Well, can someone plz post the final list of all Indian MIT acceptess with as much detials as you know! Its hard to keep searching on the forum in 500 posts!!</p>
