The Indian Thread (TiT) # 14

how can you know that? I can’t seet anything online…

talking to…callthecops2, about NU

hi puritania… what are the colleges you waiting for ?? any acceptances??..

SM

I’ve been accepted to LSU, Ithaca College… rejected Caltech, waitlisted WUSTL. I’ ve applied to the Ivies+ NU, UChicago and some LACs.

Congrats Rushil for making it to Caltech! You will surely love it!
Congrats puritania… r u an Indian in Romania?

hahahahah, no, actually I’m a Romanian just browsing through your thread… someone said that NU extented their decisions and that’s how I got interested…

hmm… I think they have already fed-exed their Mails containing admission decision.

By the way folks, how much do NTSE, JSTS and RMO count in your application?

A lot!!! It always helps… :)

just to be sure you have already applied and are awaitng decisions

what is RMO and JSTS (-ignorant me)

RMO-Regional Mathematics Olympiad
JSTSE-Junior-level State Talent Search Examination

As said perfectly right…

All Olympiads help a big way in ascertaining knowledge capability of an applicant. However that being said , its an academic factor that brings up ur knowledge and not counted as extra curricular. Its always an extra to have something as credible as that > but as of what i see, big colleges and top notch universities dont giv a damn to whether you did them as a main factor unless you are really at the national levels. At lower than national levels ,these stand to present your strong academic pursuit and are counted as an activity and not an achievement. A NTSE would help you get an admission with slight weaknesses… A JSTSE would only add up to your list of extra activities you have had…

SM

btw, SM went RMO too!

Congrats Rushil!

I completely forgot that MIT decisions were coming out after my Chem exam…;)

congratulations… to you rushil on making to caltech… wonderful place… and splendid acceptance there you got… so well… your all on high gear action now… with no more decisions to look really forward too…

sucharita… in your opinion how important is the interview for admission?
Is it a factor in the decision. thanks

i had a princeton interview done some time ago . . it was totally informal and doesnt really play a big part in the admission process. they just glance at it probably . . .
