hey…i got into cmu!!!

Congrats Sachit !! Thats really cool . .

Congrats Sachit.

Hey, guys , mind posting the list of MIT admit . waitlists form India this year!

Also, what is the waitlist system? Can somebody explain?

Did anyone talk to ashish — did he get Caltech? I know he applied!

I dont know much abt Arka — can somebody plz give more details like achievements etc…???

What abt someone posting some stats of MIT acceptees!!

Also, what are your views on Caltech! Its definitely muchhhh more selective than anyone else ---- 200 undergrads only while even MIT has a 1000! Besides they are heavily research in science focused!! Also, tey specifically and its compulsory to send some sort of explanationa of any idea or research you have! Please offer your opinion ---- Thanks!!

What research stuff did you send ?

I know one person who got into MIT from my college

Name : Ankit Gordhandas

11th std : 75%
SAT 1 : 2150
SAT 2 : Math 2c : 750

Just one EC heard so far - Seeds of Peace camp to Lahore

dude thats AWESOME!!!..i mean SCS is like TOUGH to get in!!..u got a DHL or checked it online??

Wow!! Thats a bit lower than what you’s expect! Could you post some more details for Ankit! I thinkhis interview might have pursued him to the end to get admission thorugh favour!!! Maybe he had some other bright spot!! I have some analysis of MIT admission based on recent events and I’ll post that later!!

I had an idea on a variation of Einstein’s relativity theory and how to resolve it! I contacted some profs through fourms(as this) and later sent a brief description to everywhere I applied! Since Caltech has a unique admission system where profs and students actually read and assess your app fully — I beilive that my submission most probably played a major role in deciding my admission – besides the Olympaids etc!!

So what are your opinions on Caltech! Still waiting for MIT details! Thanks!

hey rishabh, was that question for me?

if yes, i didnt send any research stuff.

No . . it was for Rushil

Congrats Sachit! Ashish was denied admission to Caltech.

Adides, it seems u dislike BJP. BJP is not the SAME in all the states. They may be Communal in Gujarat, but thats not the case for each and every place. They are doing a lot for Bihar, and yes, their work is reaching the masses. About the efficiency of Laloo, no doubt he has worked quite well as a Railway Minister, but his misrule in Bihar cannot be denied. Anyone who supports EVIL is EVIL. So, Congress is an evil too, just as u can say for BJP for supporting Narendra Modi.
U know that many people were massacred in Gujarat due to some fanatic administrators, but u dont know how many people died in Bihar, how many kids were kidnapped in bihar, Bhagalpur riots, and many more…
Btw, my I did my XIIth from a school in Patna which has been in highlight for the past few years, as most of the students who were kidnapped were from it. :)

some bad is not all bad

and some good is not whole good

“some bad” and “all bad” has BAD in it ;)

I strongly disagree. Corrupt politicans are equally responsible for “the deaths of hundreds of men and women”. Just think about it: if the politicians didn’t ‘eat’ this money, it could be used for doing good things for the country - setting up schools, hospitals, improving living conditions etc. (that’s why we pay tax to the government, right?). Isn’t it pretty obvious that hospitals and education can save lives? And so by diverting goverment money into personal coffers, aren’t politicans actually responsible for the deaths of people who died simply because there wasn’t any hospital in a 100 miles of their home? You can’t look at the issue of corruption in isolation - you can’t just say that “paisa khana” is better than shooting people (though that is what the politicians would like you to believe).

That being said, I have absolutely no faith in politics. What I do have faith is in the human spirit to survive and help each other.

ronty, you may have lied once in your life , but that wouldnt make you a bad person in totality

^^^ Yes, I agree!

Telling a lie and starving millions of people by eating up the funds allocated for their development are two very different things…

Some good has BAD in it too. I’ll let you figure that out for yourself…

but still you cant judge a person on singular incidents . .
