I remember reading somewhere that although macs dont have much of a virus problem, this is because of the relatively few numbers of macs around. Apparently, macs are easier to hack than windows.
Also, I dont use pirated software… mostly. :)</p>
<p>for scientific computation, you are never dependant on a specific architecture. that’s why most professors use macs because macs … you know … “just work”

<p>my problem with macs is that you sell your soul forever to apple. in terms of software, bootcamp has pretty much solved the problems, but for hardware support, you are tied to apple. and then what’s the whole point of buying a mac and using windows on it?</p>
<p>btw at IUB you will be heavily bullied into insalling linux (suse), esp eecs guys. but still it’s a fairly normal distribution (no pun intended), with about 75% using windows, 20% using linux and 5% using macintosh.</p>
<p>btw get 15" or even smaller screen if you can… you cant carry a 17 inch monster from dorm to lab, unless you plan to keep it in your room as a desktop. but here at least you will need to carry it around especially for labs.</p>

<p>once you see those 12" vaio’s, you will know what i mean. my ex flatmate had a 12 or 14 (not sure) apple laptop and he carried it in a little purse type thing… try forcing a 17 inch laptop into your backpack… you definitely dont want to carry such a thing and especially not in a laptop bag! but anyway, whatever works for you. you can try and see if it does or not, but as far as i am concerned, 14 or 15 inch is enough… unlike a desktop where 17 or 19 is standard, with a laptop you want something that works great without becoming a burden. 
it’s sort of like why airlines use smaller aircrafts but more flights for short distances but bigger crafts and less flights for intercontinental operation, even though there are way more passengers for shorter distances, frequency is more of a concern… (wow what a rotten analogy i pulled off)</p>

<p>Ii think we should have job reservations in al the fields. I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this. Let’s start the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent reservation for Muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC/ST like that. Cricket rules should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player.The four hit by an OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit by a OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared should be declared as a century. We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our OBC player. Bowlers should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an OBC player. What say?</p>

one of these days i’ll burn every hair in his beard…but oh wait not every one of them…coz ya know 30%is reserved for OBC’s then 20 for SC/ST’s and 10 for muslims…so i’ll only get like 40% of it…but anyways i’ll make sure i’ burn the 40% which will hurt him the most…;)</p>
