The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

Maybe one could form an equation for average response-safety time? Based on factors such as time between postings (relaxation time? tau? :D) and timeframe within which one is allowed to edit and typing speed and other such amusing things.

Right, I am losing it.

Oh and yes, I’m currently engrossed in watching DS9, Boston Legal, Numb3rs, Idol and Heroes… Oh and yes, also doing a Board Examination where everybody around’s expecting me to top. Terrible, terrible…

I’ll get off my soapbox now.

Ya…earlier when v were in 11th…v used to amuse at the look of the book and thought that ‘‘How on earth r v gonna solve those ridiculously crazy problems’’…
And now it is…Sheesh…cant v get a better problem…

Shrivats – Numb3rs! Heroes! Both awesome, awesome shows, I heartily approve. (I am not going to reveal exactly how fannish I am re. Mohinder Suresh; it’s just sort of embarassing. Although I am very pleased that there is an interesting Indian main character who isn’t a stereotype.)

Ah yes, I’ll do it:

Tau = (e^2 x L)/t

e -> eccentricity :slight_smile:
L -> Latin used (and referenced)
t -> In place to ensure one writes tau properly.

Oh and I’m currently in the midst of an obsession with the Greek Alphabet. Keep writing it down everywhere.

I guess that’s when you know you’ve learnt too much physics.

I suggest T: television factor. (Hey, it seems to be the current thing.)

The Greek alphabet is fun, although I can never write a good zeta.

I can’t write psi. :frowning: Just can’t get a symmetrical downward ). :D

I love my beta though. Very flowing. :)

Di! Ecce hora! Uxor mea me necabit!

(Substitute conscience for wife, and you’ve got something)

Adieu all, see you in a bit. :D

Heroes and Prison Break FTW. Lost sucks now. House MD is as good as ever.

I lov the eta…the one in Viscosity…
And the best equation(Except E=mc2) is the Schrodinger Wave Equation…

Nah, best equation ever is Euler’s. e to the i(pi) is minus one, who can deny the Awesome of that? (I’m more of a math girl than a physics girl, although I love physics very dearly.)

Will throw in a bit of love for Taylor & Maclaurin series (serieses? Nah, sounds awful.) while I’m at it.

Why is it that I always miss out on these crazy conversations? :D

Now of course the only thing left is for an adcom to come by this thread and discover how very intelligent all of us are ;)

I’ll never forgive you for also using that in your box; some things go too far :)

Sadly, I haven’t seen Heroes or Prison Break. I never got around to them. I’ve been too pre-occupied with House, Desperate Housewives, BSG and Scrubs. :p

Oh yeah, Lost too. :D

All this is the TV I don’t watch on TV. I’ll update you with the stuff I watch on TV later, thats a long list. :)

PS: House is the best show ever.

Chicago is freezing…right now

But math deserves to be everywhere! Even my box! :p

@ dda: You’re visiting colleges aren’t you? How’s it going so far?

I do not watch TV. Someone kill me.

I’m feeling distinctly ungeeky and unnerdy and undereducated (I don’t know all that much Latin and I’m not obsessed with Greek) and generally out of place.

bas007: I’d be highly obliged to you if you didn’t post more than twice in a row. It’s not fun trawling through so many posts.

I’m listening to The Dresden Dolls, instead of TV. Specifically, “Christopher Lydon” by The Dresden Dolls, which is a song all about obsessive unrequited love for a celebrity. Woo emo music!

its going good, i recently visited u of chicago…nice campus very academic atmosphere…there are a few nerds here and you guys will totally dig the university!

going up to UW-Madison today…its around 8AM, wednesday morning here so lets see how tht goes…im not visiting u of illinois as previously mentioned because i got rejected

and btw prison break and heroes are quite good, i also like numb3rs…the math dudes here, can u guys tell me the therories they explain in the show? actually true and practicable?

also wht internet connections are you guys on…just out of curiosity

crap this is my 3rd edit @laskhya - did you make it into UIUC computer science?

Yes, I did infact make it. :)

I use a 1Mbps broadband connection. :D
