<p>If you’ve been contacted, by all means go. (Though I was under the impression that for Internationals, the onus was on you to contact them) Refusing an interview without a valid reason is the worst thing you can do. They’ll think you’re either a psychopath or a person who’s got something to hide.</p>
<p>And k_twin – yeah, I won’t be shedding any tears if essays are the most important factor. Mine are unquestionably the strongest part of my app (with the possible exception of test scores, though those aren’t exactly uncommon in Stanford’s applicant pool!). </p>
<p>I just hope that all the ‘gravity gets me down’ and ‘I get lepton at ohm for science puns’ comments will amuse Caltech. :D</p>

<p>I went for a more, direct engagement of the reader in my essays, more personal and contemplative, less humourous, except for my 217 and Hopkins essays where I went just a little crazy :D</p>
