Ah, that’s weird Noldo, I thought they’d jump at the idea of a younger candidate. (We’re in somewhat of the same boat there, though K and I will be only 1 year younger for our class) Well, at least it didn’t go completely bad. (I’ve read some horror stories on CC. My MIT interview was about the same really. I didn’t quite connect with the guy, he was more of an investment banker, definitely not the type of MIT alumnus I’d imagined. As for K, he went to the same guy and got a 20 minute interview. (Ah, I’ve interviewed your twin, know all about you, there’s no need for us to talk)

how old are you guys really?
(I just hit 17 a few months back)

Shri and I are 16; we’ll turn 17 a couple of months before college.

My MIT interview was fantastic – alumnus was old enough to be my dad, but quite ready to geek out over stuff, and talked about science, and the impending robotic empire a la bad science-fiction (yes, really!), and said stuff to the effect of ‘I oughtn’t make this sort of comment, but you have a great chance and I want you to get in’ and – well, when I walked in, he asked me ‘Do you like classical music?’, and when I replied in the affirmative, he spent half an hour discussing favourites with me and playing samples of them over his high-fidelity sound system. It was marvellous. And two hours long.

But yeah, I don’t know why Princeton interviewer was rather disapproving of younger candidates (think she was worried about whether I’d have the maturity to succeed at Princeton); everything else was okay, though.

Anyhow, the afternoon was not a total waste; the interview was near a bookshop, so I got myself Susanna Clarke’s ‘The Ladies of Grace Adieu’ (it has Jonathan Strange in it!) and Orhan Pamuk’s ‘Snow’ and then sauntered over to the music section and got that Beatles remastered album and Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’ (which I’d previously only had on tape), so hurrah. :D

aritct: I’m 15, born August 1991.

You are 3 years minus 1 day younger than me:)
Should be 3 years, i was born on 0:01:00 hrs.

Your MIT interviewer sounds fascinating :); my Cornell interviewer was somewhat similar, we talked for hours, everything from politics to MUN, generally had a brilliant time; I’m hoping Princeton’ll be similar ('course after a while all interviews tend to be much the same; you’re answering much the same question for a good portion of the interview.)

I think most people would wear their clothes inside the shower stalls. :P. Um, maybe we should carry this conversation to MSN or a PM or something. Or stop talking about it.

NO! NO! NO! I HAVE NOT got in, and I am not close to it, and it isn’t likely. It’s just something. I will not get my hopes up, and you’re not supposed to, either!

She obviously already had a preconceived impression, which sucks. Blah. I think you’ll be able to cope, you’re about 34573485 times more mature than the average 15 year old.

I want an interview. Why doesn’t Princeton contact me?!

Abhi – Really, it’s practically three years. I was born at 23:57 GMT, according to my mum.

k_twin – keep your fingers crossed for Princeton! Sorry to hear that Shrivats’ & your MIT interviews weren’t the best, though really you’ll both probably be fine with your grades and scores and essays.

Kriti – I’m wishing she hadn’t known my age, but she wanted my date of birth for her report. Thank you for that, though – I think I’ll probably survive, although I can understand that Concerns would indeed be Had. (Watch me capitalise!)

And maybe there aren’t any alums near you? (Crikey, I just typed that and am now fending off Chemistry thoughts. Ew.)

I’m 16. I’ll turn 17 in May.

Ok, none of you know us, but you’ve talked to Shrivats and I for the past four months or so, who’s older? (I’ve a bet riding on this, so think carefully)

fuzzy, if you’re in the same school as spacepirate, you’re in Hyd., too. I’m from AP too. >.<.

Why do all the Ivies want you, anyway? (translate that to 'what are your stats? ')

I think you’re older, k_twin.

Why don’t we all join the CC chatroom?

I always thought Shrivats was older.

I’m gonna go with Shrivats

What’s the link to the chatroom?

Dare I say, some of you are right, and some of you are wrong. (1st in my series of revolutionary, unheralded observations on life, the universe and everything )

Wait, I just checked it, and it’s full of random people. So forget it.

I kind of know who is older, at least I think I know. :D

Should I say it?

On another note, my interview was very good. We shared quite a lot in common even though he is 60-something.

Why don’t we start one just for TiTers?
